If you were as rich as bill gates...

...What would ye do with all that money?


Id give all but enough to sustain me on my lower middle class lifestyle at the moment to charity (obviously) who could really live with themselves being that rich when the world is as it is?

 

probably in order:

1) i'd buy a car
2) i'd buy clothes
3) i'd buy a piano
4) i'd buy a recording studio
5) i'd fly a few musician friends in
6) we'd start up our own record company
7) buy more vehicles/equipment necessary for touring
8) give money to whomever asked for it (homeless people and what not), and save the rest.


i tend to roll my eyes at people who answer "i'd donate it" when asked questions like these.

I'd get 10% interest, live off the interest and when I was about to die throw all my money, all of it into improving the world (btw, at 50billion dollars, 10% is quite a comfortable life) with such things as sustainable communities grants, homes for the homeless, etc.

Not sure I'd trust a charitable organization with the money...

I'd buy myself a home- help some family and friends out... travel a bit- visit a VERY good friend who I haven't seen in 8 years-- give a gift that would help her and her 2 kids. Basically I'd spoil myself and have a richly funded second childhood...

I'd keep it on hand to help out folks around me in times of need... let it bear interest and live off that.

 

party until the money was gone or i was dead. give nothing back to society.

 

i'd first get my own home, with the most magnificent recording studio, with all of the fineist instruments in the world to record with. And then, i would travel, not by plane, but by bus, and on sea. I would travel from town to town, hoping to find musicians to come help me create the greatest music ever composed.


and then once thats done, do it again, and find different musicians to create something completly different, but still incredible! i would do that until i grow old, or tired of it. Then i would just sit around, smoke alot of pot, and live the high life while i pass away...

 

Buy an island or a field and live in it.... Give 99% away.

Sure i'd donate to charity....

but i'd still like to be so rich i'd never have to worry, ever.

 

id buy myself a house and a double decker bus and a vw split screen and id giv every1 that i new or anyone that asked solar panels/cells on their houses. id set up a huge organisation for alternative energy sources and give a huge chunk to all the homeless and people in poverty but id go help them myself so i could make sure stuff was getting done. an id keep what would only need to be a teeny bit to help my friends and family out.

 

I would:

1) Buy a new collection of acoustic guitars.
2) Convince my parents I didn't need college with my newfound money. No shit.
3) Buy a VW bus and name it Further.
4) Kidnap my boyfriend and travel the country and then the world, making music, telling stories, learning, helping the unfortunate.
5) Donate a chunk of cash to an oil alternative, like hydrogen cars, and make George Bush feel really stupid when the alternative works.
6) And finally, after keeping enough to live comfortably all my life with sufficient funds and marijuana and alcohol, I would give the rest to hurricane victims and a bunch of other charity services.

a lot of his money is tied up in a little company some like to call microsoft
giving it away/spending it would probly ruin microsoft, putting a rediculous amount of people out of work, and eventually cripple many companies that rely on a microsoft product.
