SOcial Services are very hard to work in if you have a felony but other jobs will not be as difficult. Don't quit college but maybe change your major? to something like buisness a different science like anthropology or even research psychology. That way your in the labs so they wont background check you. Is there anyway you can get the felony erased?

 

i dont know. i had a group counselor once that said you can get them expunged... the lawyer will always cost an average of two grade and its not easy and not a hand out...
you gotta go thru a rigourous process to PROVE you've changed but it's posssible. is expunged the same as erased?
maybe i should contact him for more info...

and yer right about maybe changing majors... ill have to think on that... from what u know of me, what do u most see i should maybe change it to if i do that?

gas or electricity? Both aren't going anywhere and they both pay pretty damn well. Not the most prestigious of careers in most eyes but fuck most eyes. Unless you're going to be contracting out to the man you won't have to worry about a felony.

 

ooooh this can actually be fun. I mean you get to maybe pick a whole new major a whole new career path-a whole new life! how exciting! I know you like to help people. you're creative, like music and animals. what about public administration, art or art history, liberal arts, buisness management or marketing. I have a friend who just graduated with a buisness marketig degree last spring and he is in his first job making 60 a year. You could always volunteer at the human society or somewhere similar if you still feel to help others. Maybe talk to a counselor at your school? I am so excited for you actually because this is like a new begining; you know?

well it's easy for me to say because your the one facing this not me. Buisness is a pretty diverse major though. I kinda wish I majored in it and the kids will drive ya nuts after a few years anyway. I just got over a two day long headache and had to take 5 xanax to get my sanity back. kids kinda suck sometimes anyway. Maybe you could work at an animal shelter? you love cats. I mean you're smart there are tons of things you can do, life will get better. just look how much better it's gotten for you in the past couple of months. your doing good don't let one small thing discourage you ((((((((Trish)))))))))

 

oh good lord I know it's easier said than done... but at least it's something to consider? Takes a fair bit of capital to start up usually, which sucks.

I think I'd just go for whatever you're really interested in for your major - something you'll enjoy doing for years and years and years. Business is neat and all, I just chose commerce because I didn't know what the fuck else to do and it would get me a job in a bunch of places. Trades sound neat, but I don't know how they feel about records - some are pretty tight about them I'd imagine. those that aren't, well, there are lots of frauds out there playing at being contractors so you have to be worried about those too. Research assistant, in most fields, shouldn't involve any checks like that or any truly strict policy that you couldn't appeal against. Especially for psych/anth/arch/phil type stuff, the social sciences - it's hard to steal any of that stuff which is probably the primary concern when you find someone with a record, no matter what the felony was.
