This is random, but what if there is a dream world that is parallel to this world. For example, people/souls and time exist is both worlds. So any dream one has comes from this world and can represent any place or time in that world. wondering if anyone has any similar ideas?
I have a surprising number of dreams about my home town, but there are all sorts of things that are not the same. In this dream city, I have a house on Madeleine Avenue, a street that doesn't really exist in the real city. There are some streets and buildings and people that are the same.
You may be onto something, Shady. Maybe dreaming is like a radio slightly off the channel; picking up some parts of another frequency.
What if there are as many dream worlds as there are dreamers yet like ripples on a pond all are overlapping and blending one into the other even as they spread and change. And as we are all connected, we often tap into the dream waves of others as well as of our future or past selfes. Time or space do not matter here. So what is real, what is a dream and is there a difference at all. In wake state we believe into dreams, but when dreaming we usually do not make such a difference. It is like we are dreaming all the time ... we are all worlds as we exist from within, not from without. Its just the setting that changes. And any dream is but a facet of the greater whole that we manifest as experience and opportunity to change ourselfes and become more. ... just another idea
what if our spirit was living more than one life at a time, and sleeping was the time when you could interact with your parrelel spirit? maybe dreaming is being able to tap into some sort of collective subconcious where experiences are shared freely.
Supposedly there are spiritual guides on a higher plane which we can access in the dream state. I've had a few such dreams. Then there is the OBE thing, where one leaves the body, there is the lucid dream, there is the religious dream, etc. My favourite story was the one where the Buddhist Master wakes up and starts to cry. His disciples come over and ask him what the matter is. He replies that he was dreaming that he was a butterfly, loving flying around. And now that he was awake he was wondering if in reality he was the butterfly and if he is just a dream, dreaming that he was a man. One of his disciples threw cold water oh his face and walked away. The master started to laugh. But Buddhist scriptures do meantion higher states after death where one can become a spiritual guide for those still living. Whether or not they exist in the dream world is another matter.
