I was wondering. Where do UK citizens feel the most @ home on the European continent?
I know that the britisch don't like continentals but does that count for all continenetals. I mean for example Holland. The UK and Holland are almost like brothers I think. But what about Germany and France.
Which continentals are the most like the British??

Erm I would agree that the British and the Dutch are quite similar in the typical standard, but me personally feel more at home in France, I love France and feel at home there and would love to live there one day. Unfortunately most British people do not like to relate to others in Europe which is a shame.

im irish, and us paddies love every1....except sometimes the english...cuz they have the most hooligan lager louts in the world, and also some people dont like them because they were fairly harsh over here for about 700 years......... but for the vast majority of us we say "let by gones be by gones, and come on down the pub for a pint" ;)
and as for me personally, i love brits...in fact, i think ill move over and become 1 :D
peace and love my brothers and sisters in this journey we all call life

Perhaps the dutch and brits are closer because they simply ARE closer. Holland is like the Vegas of the EU - and just as entertaining for much of the EU (considering that you can drive in 2 hours in any direction and be in another country) almost anything goes. Very open minded folk (publically, not really socially). Very "western" but still retaining the culture.

i can relate totally to irish hippy i am also too irish but dad was in the forces so grew up pretty much all over europe, i can honestly say with moving around once every 12 months with me dads job i can find my self at home anywhere in europe the one thing i realised is there is good and bad in every part of the world but i think what makes the world is the way you look at it a negitive outlook and you`ll never be happy even in your birth country.

Don't judge all of us by the attitudes of our tabloid media ... it's sad that you have that image of British people.:(

Definitly felt more at home in Ireland....more at home than in England I think :p

Brittany and France the folks seemed to be pretty funky...Spain, well, the locals hate brits, so just did the usual touristy shit there. Belgium, loved Belgium, can't wait to go back again. Germany was very cool, made to feel very welcome there. Greece was nice, the locals were very friendly but i only appreciated it when i dragged meself away from the tourist hotspots.
