One of our computers recently contracted some adware. Several tools including norton anti-virus and ad/spyware removers, analyzing runtime processes, searching the registry- nothing works. This crap acts by spamming us with pop-up adds and requests to install programs at high velocity.
which ones.....i'd suggest ad-aware and spybot...both, the best available & both freebies also did you run "hijackThis", another freebie, to get a snapshot of what the culprit might be....i'd suggest that, then post the results here and someone may be familiar with the germs you have
I agree ... try using Ad-Aware and Spybot, and if those don't work, try Hijack This. I'd also recommend, in the way of virus software, AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. It works just as good as Norton or McAfee, but it's free.
maybe problem is similar with mine some time ago. check this thread http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118424 good luck

yea no programs work but 5 minutes ago I disabled the messenger service and nothing has popped up yet thank you for the tips
Hehe ... righty-o. Just to let you know ... the messenger service isn't really adware or anything added to your computer. It just lets text ads be displayed on your computer; it's not technically adware. We'd probably have been more help knowing this, but I'm glad you got it figured out. Good luck, friend!
