ok i got my first percing a couple months ago now and it was my toung and now im going tomorrow to get my ears pierced so i can start streching i just want to now how long i have to waint after geting them pierced befour i can start streching and any advice for me when i start thanks And i would like to say piercings are so addictive i got my first and going back for ears and niple
After getting them freshly pierced I would wait about 4-5 months or until they not longer hurt. You can also get your lobes dermal punched(meaning getting a hole in you lobes just punched out making them stretched right away) but then you willlbe stuck with stretched lobes forever, were as just stretching depening on what gauge you go they can shrink down.
Dont stretch em. THink it out, maybe by the time you decide, the trend will be over. Unless you have some other reason, then i would let them heal good, and stretch them yourself.
Personally, I didn't stretch my ears because of the trend. One day I found a pair of earrings I really liked, only they were 14 gauge. So I bought them and shoved them in. It was fun, so gradually I just kept stretching. Plus I just get a kick out of having tunnels in my ears. Anyway, your best bet is to just ask your piercer. Some piercers will actually do it for you if you just buy your jewelry from them. Depends where you go. Just make sure you let your ears heal before you stretch further (no more crust and pus and redness and all that fun stuff). Otherwise you're in for way more pain than you need to be. I like to stretch mine with metal pincers because they are heavy and on almost every single gauge they stretched themselves within a few months. But the best advice you can get will come from your piercer.
Only stretch your piercing once the previous stretch (or in this case original piercing) has completely healed or you will develop scar tissue that i)makes it harder to stretch to your desired gauge and ii)prohibits a complete shrink when you are finished having big holes in your ears. Once your ears have completely healed from the previous stretch or pierce, taper up to the next gauge. You'll know if you're ready to taper if there is no pain or discomfort at all. If there is any you have not waited long enough. If you shove the thing through when you do feel pain then you are promoting scarring. You aren't going to be able to tell by looking at the hole, but when you get to a gauge around 4-2-0-00, you're going to blow your ear out if there is any scar tissue and that is complete suck.
Uh.. okay, never heard that before. Scar tissue has nothing to do with your ear being able to shrink back.. It's pretty much a general fact that if you go over 2ga, your ears will not go back to "normal."
Yeah, i agree Albin0, it hurt every fucking time i stretched, not because the previous hadnt healed, but because I was STRETCHING MY EAR LOBE! Its gonna hurt. From an "OH SHIT" jump up and down, to a slight sting, but it will hurt. And WTF to when you dont want big holes in your ears? once you get over 1/4 inche, you loose elasticity and can forget being "normal" again, hence the the reason you shouldnt do it for a trend, cause the hole will out last the trend i promise. I am at 3/4 and never plan on "going back" because it would go against the reason I did it.
may i recommend that if you're not worried about the "no turning back" after 2g... if you plan on going past 2g... that you just get your lobes dermal punched... you can punch up to a 00g... and they heal better than a needle piercing because its a nice clean cut... not a stab and tear like needles... but heed this warning... dermal punch is a NO WAY BACK situation.. once you cut a hole out of your ear.. it will not heal... but if you're not in it for trend and you're gonna stretch beyond 2g... go for the dermal punch... it'll save you time and money
I've been stretching mine over a period of five years. It does hurt. It's not like you get numb to it like a tattoo. It hurts the whole time they are being stretched. Not just in your ear, behind in your neck, nerves and such. I would suggest waiting and taking your time with it. That way you can be sure it's what you want to do. Go a gauge at a time, every three months at the most often. I am at a 0 gauge after five years, and I think my earings are kind of heavy so they stretch them more. I'm not sure if I'll go any bigger, and I'm not in any rush, as always. Takin' it easy, Takin' it slow.
Good for you lenamarin! Taking time on your ears only means they'll be "healthier." It took me around 6 years to get my ears up to an inch.. (Mind you, there were a lot of pitfalls to that, and I had my ears at like a 10ga hoop for years before I even thought about it.) And one thing about ears, they can be persnickity little bastards. They take turns being "bitchy" and "sore" sometimes, depending on if I'm sick, or if it's cold, weird shit like that. I kinda use them as my health indicators.. They work pretty good. (This is only my OWN general experience!)
punched? nah, thats so poser man, part of the act is the discipline you get. Its a journey not a goal. Besides, removing skin is a lot different than displacing it.
should you really wait three whole months before moving up to the next gauge? even at small sizes? that seems a long time.... just cuz i can tug and twist mine as much as i want without any pain after about a week each time.... oh but i just thought of something: i've been using teflon tape so i'm probably going a third of a gauge each time instead of a whole one anyway..... hehe so what size can i bring them to before they're permanently stretched out?
someone once told me that if you go more than a size er two at a time, the hole will look like a cat's butthole if you take the jewelry out, all pink and wrinkly. Not sure if that's true or not, but this guy was a body piercer with lots of experience, so I just kinda believed him and did it that way. But I never really was THAT hard up to get it done, so it wasn't like, clockwork on the dot, every three months I was on edge ready to strech that shit. I just did it whenevah. Now I'm at zero and if I go more, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, if I ever do. No total plan, just whatevah happens ya know.
i got mine down to 4s but i had to take them out when my mom sent me to the hospitle(spelling)...i started off with 16 gages then stuck in 12's i waited for about 2 weeks then i stuck 8's in then about 3 1/2 weeks later i stuck 4's in but i was really high when i did all of them.....
I dont know why I started stretching. I just like having tunnels in my ear. But one day I prob will let them grow up who knows but to answer your question you should at least wait 2 months before you begin the process in my opinion.. peace chickens
dont dermal punch lobes. theres no reason to it what so ever. when you punch, you remove lots of precious tissue. imagine what happens when you roll out play dough, it gets thinner when it gets bigger right? same idea. yes more tissue does form as you stretch, but you still want to keep as much as you can. wait til they are fully healed plus a few weeks. ear lobes tend to take about 3 weeks to heal, depending on what size you get them pierced at. you can safely stretch once a month, but i recommend waiting about two between stretches. when you stretch, only do it one size at a time! this brings me to my next point scar tissue! scar tissue is basically what a healed piercing is! its called a fistula. it is a tube of thin scar tissue that you wear jewelry through. the whole myth of 'bad scar tissue' is more or less refering to blow outs. this comes from when you stretch to quickly. you push the fistula of scar tissue out through the back. if this happens, take the jewelry out IMMEDIATLY! i got my lobes pierced with a 4 gauge needle, followed by a 2 gauge taper. this method will keep all tissue, and give you a size that normally take months (and lots of expencive jewelry) to aquire. and about all of this 2/0/00 gauge and no turning back stuff... i personally know people that had their lobes at over one inch close in a couple of months. if you want them to be closed, there are MANY different methods you can use to get them to close. and no, im not refering to plastic surgery. but the main thing is... love your body! do it slowly, and do what makes you happy with it.
