I read it about 20 years ago, even back then in the middle of the Reagan escalated cold war, it seemed silly. An intresting experiment might be to download the text and replace all the occurances of Communist with Islamic Terrorists and see how it reads.
It's an outstanding, must-read book for all those in search of the truth. Gary Allen is a hero to all truthseekers.
