It's a great-national topic isn't it? I tried it when i was in Perth three years ago i didn't find it tasting good:then i said what the hell is this stuff, it's really bad! Man, never say that to an australian... There also were some exchange students from Sydney here in italy, then they invited me at their place for dinner and the first thing they had on the table was vegemite of course.. so they wanted me to try it, so I did and figured:I?=d better say a neutral not too bad... a special greet to all Australia from Itlay..
those people have no tastebuds!!! I've tried to get hardcore marmite eaters to try vegemite and it has all ended up a bit sticky!! oh well, leaves more for us I suppose!!
No, not even compared to spoiled catfish stink bait. I believe even a catfish would turn its nose up at vegemite...*c*
i had an australian friend who used to send me vegemite and carmello bears =) rools: havent heard from her in years, miss her and the vegemite
I can only take Vegemite is small doses. I use to like Marmite but I don't like it all anymore, somehow it's flavor has changed since I was a child - to me anyhow... I'm more of a Promite fan definately.
I hate vegemite and I reckon it's the most disgusting revolting thing ever invented. Brain food for all Aussie kids, my foot. But most of my family love it and thus I reckon they must be disfunctional or else they have their taste buds up their bums. Yuk!! Nothing worse than smelling the smell of vegemite first thing in the morning. Seriously, I have this black stuff called Stockmans Tar I use to paint my chooks or ducks with if they get hurt and are bleeding and the stuff looks identical to vegemite. I reckon they are one and the same stuff, but just marked with different labels depending if you are going to have it on toast or if you are going to paint your chooks. Give me peanut butter any day and the sun it does shine! Welf
What the hell? Tell me, where are the nearest eskimos? It's a good source of vitamin D but in smaller doses is best. I love it when foreigners come over and try it because they put tones on. So funny
I LOVE VEGIMITE....My world would stop without it and music...I used to eat it by the spoonful in front of peeps they thought it was funny, even showed some of our exchange students how to eat it...they almost gagged at the smallest amount...ahhh hours of entertainment
I was looking at the list of ingredients of the various yest extract spreads in the supermarket the other day. I had to conclude that Vegemite had the shortest list of ingredients and therefore the most natural.
Vege and cheese sandwiches was a staple for our play lunches as kids. Although, some find this strange so i think it's a state thing. I love it when people from other countries decide to try it and put a load on. It's the only spread i know where you only need a little It's a beauty first thing on toast or on crackers with cheese
