Weed is addictive...

Now before everyone starts bashing me for even saying this, lemme explain my point. First off, I have recentally been forced into an intensive outpatient rehab program for marijuana. I myself was only smoking 1-2 times a week and am still baffled on why the counciler put me in this program. Anyways the people in this program WERE addicted to pot. This one girl at the program was in the residential for alchohalism and pot addiction. She was so riculously addicted to pot that she even had sex with some of her dealers for a free gram or two. When I first herd this I kinda laughed in a grossed-out and shocked sort of way(not in the group of course). But the importent thing to note is that almost all the people that are addicted to pot do it for other reasons then just to have fun. The people in my group have a very hard time remebering when the last time they went to school stright was. They smoked pot everyday maintaing a near constant 24 hour high becuase the real world was just straight up boring.

Now this definetly doesn't apply to every pot smoker, as a matter of fact it only applies to a small amount of them. When you smoke pot it's definetly a responsibilty, as is drinking alchohol or any other drug. For some weaker minded people(depressed, addictive personality, ect) the responsibilty is hard for them to handle and general use can and has easily led to addiction. I don't mean to scare new users away, but I just want them to be responsible about it. And to all the people that say POT ISN'T ADDICTIVE, it is for some people and it can be really hard for some of us to stop, SO SHUT THE FUCK UP.

EDIT: I just wanted to clarify that the story about the girl fucking for bud is the first I've ever herd and is the worst of the worse. There is a one in 2 million chance(estimate) that this will ever happen to anyone. This girl was just really emotionally diturbed and fucked up. Please, Say a prayer for her before you go to bed.

being a consultant/addictionologist and referring people who you know are not addicts but saying they are so you can make thousands of dollars off their families.

 

As mentioned, some people can get addicted to anything you can think up. I think a good number of people sent to rehab or group sessions for smoking pot are sent there more out of punishment than actual neccessity. I mean, I dont know what your situation was exactly, but if you were only smoking once or twice a week it doesn't sound like you're in need of any rehab.

AHAHAHAHA, you are the dumbest motherfucker I've ever herd. Have you ever been to a rehab meeting? mabey if you actually met some of these kids you'd have a serious perspective change. Hearing kids "yea, i could never really enjoy my high becuase I was always to concerned about getting the money for the next bag," makes you realize how ignorant kids can really turn something as harmless as pot into a substance that seriously threatens their future. im addicted. But, thus far, i havent had a problem. i am cutting down for health reasons, but ive been smoking everyday for a while, and my grades are the best theyve ever been..

 

Let's see...you said you smoked pot a couple of times/week and therefore were addicted and had to go to rehab.

How did getting high once or twice/week so negatively impact your life that you needed "treatment"?
Were you laughing too much? Eating too many Ding Dongs? Enjoring sex too much? Worried about all the postitive health benefits of smoking pot?

 

You need to come down enough to read the post. It says he didn't think he needed to go into rehab for a recreational habit, but was forced to go. The addiction comments were about the skank fucking her way to a bag of herb.

anything can be addictive. and event hings that arent harmful can BE harmful if overdone! milk cna give u brittle bones if u drink it too often and carrots can make you go blind if you eat them too often. but ill be damned if a little jackin off has ever hurt my life!

As for weed- I stopped after about 20 years of nearly daily use. I felt no physical symptoms beyond some bronchial issues easing up and a nagging cough going away. Since I was using it as sort of a crutch there were some adjustments I had to make- but nothing that anyone with a bit of willpower couldn't handle.

Marijuana is far less addictive than tobacco and alcohol and I can't say that it has had any long-term effect on my memory and ability to think and problem solve.

 

ok yes mayb that girl was fucking for a gram of herb. but you ever think that mayb she said that just to cover up the fact that she liked having sex. mayb she was realy close to her dealer and just fucked him cuz she wanted to but got some herb out of it too. because this is complete bullshit. the only way that som1 would do that for bud is if they owed someone a gram or they were gonna get killed (wich would also never happen). she was prally addicted to crack. and as for the addiction thing. ive been smoking pot 5 days a week every week since june or sumtin and i love it. but if i wanted to stop i could easily. thats all it is. its a mental addiction if u tell urselfe u want to stop smoking than ur gonna stop smoking but most ppl just dont want to. and for some reason i think this kid is just makin that bullshit up. dont come into marijuana forums where everyone loves weed and tell them depressing ass stories about some chik and her problems and try and tell us that wut we do is bad. thats just gay on your part. obviously the onlly reason u said all this shit is to try and impact our lives and u failed miserably. im sorry u were forced to go into rehab for a stupid reason but in all due respect fuck you for trying to change my lifestyle. I did have one friend that was physically hooked on the herb....oddest thing I'd ever heard of, but there it was. He'd been puffing since grade school......maybe that had something to do with it? He was fun to get stoned w/ tho....until he had to go and wreck it by askng me to be his girlfriend, lol...won't men ever learn?
