Even if it did look like a cross, which it doesn't, the cross symbol has been around plenty long anyway, and is a fairly simple thing that could be created quite coincidentally rather plentifully. That's like taking the most basic thing, making it your symbol and saying you're right cause it's everywhere even though it existed before your meaning for it did..
