I bought that movie last week hadn't watched it til last night and it was really good. I highly recommend it to everyone. Doors fan or not.
Don't watch it as a literal biography of Jim Morrison. It's more an interpretation of energy, I find it very spiritual in a way.
I received the DVD as a present from my friend. He was the one who played "The Doors" to me for the first time (in 2003) and since then I became a great fan... He even gave me that present without particular occasion and that's one of the greatest things I've ever received!
I have to say that I didn't like the movie very much. Think its good for ppl who knows something about Jim, but for those who doesn't, it makes a wrong picture about Morrison in there head, and it makes me sad. Movie describes Morrison in bad light... I read that Ray Manzarek said that the movie is shit (he used that word)... Anyway, my opinion is that everyone who likes r'n'r should watch it, but dont recommend it to your dancer friends
Yesterday i watching The Doors_Live_Copenhagen_1968_Divx that`s real Morrison..she's roll,cry,provoke police ,)
morrisson is great in every incarnation..... poet, hedonist, rock god, insecure person, etc jim was a fucking train wreck and thats part of the reason why i like him...i relate to him, he isn't a cookie cutter rock god HE MADE THE MOLD
My hippie friend in my English class let me borrow it and I absolutely love it. I'm gonna go buy it now. Next he's gonna loan me Woodstock....
The Doors kick ass. They always will. I saw the Doors of the 21st Century live in concert 2 summers ago. They sounded just as great as they did almost 40 years ago. Ian Asbury did a great job as lead singer. Sounded and acted just like Morrison. Ray and Robbie still jammed like no tomorrow. Very excellent. The movie was awesome. True there were many exaggerations as far as Jim's being, but it still was very entertaining, and the cast was great!!
great to hear the doors are still jammin and soundin good, i'll have to check out their tour schedule, love the doors, sad day when jim morrison, janis joplin and jimi hendrix died, i remember them all so well, 1970 was a sad year. hippiewise
