Why bother cutting down forests, and taking over small independant companies when all the money that is made from investments such as these will end up being useless. If the earth dies then there's no need for heaps of money! And why the hell does someone need to keep making money once they have enough of it to live off for two lifetimes? It's greed man.

i strongly agree with you, unfortunately human beings, at least the ones in power only tend to think in the short term, whether this is because they are greedy/selfish or they just dont know the full consequences, and also there are not enough people who think they have the power to change it, but we all have to keep demanding change to care for this planet, only if we do this will the planet will stand a chance, i'm not saying it will stop it, but its got to be worth a go to try and change things,

They don't cut down forrests as much as they used to anymore...last i read there is actually more trees now than there was in teh 1920's, thanks to tree farms...they planted the trees, they own the trees...i dont see a problem...

If you could predict the end of the world..i would agree with you... The earth won't die [for billions years too come.]. we might die [out].. Thats prety for certain... You only have to see countries asking for money in these troubling times [famine-natural disasters] that the world is on a fragile see saw as far as mony is concerned.. True there are greedy people in the world.. but lots of wealthy people also are extremly giving to the world around us.. I dunno what kind of world you wish, but if it could survive with out trade/money i would love to hear about it.

Its not just about money, it is about power as well. Yes there is a limit to how much wealth one can accumulate and there is a limit to how much money someone can spend in a lifetime, but there are no such limits to power. Money is one way to become powerful and once powerful, it is easy to accumulate money.

Ok Rush Limbaugh.... There may be more trees now, but there are not more forests... what condition are those trees in? Tree farms may have tree but they grow single species... They don't create natural environments, growing a single species can actually be much worse...
