they did a test at rehab *just got back yesterday* and at first the doctor told me that my numbers were normal, then when i was leaving the nurse practitioner told me mine are slightly elevated and to keep an eye on them. i went to google last night but couldnt find much help. my numbers are SGOT -66 / SGPT 49 anyone know how abnormal that is????
http://www.geocities.com/TheTropics/Shores/4259/Definitions.html found this...don't know if it's any use.....
Thanks. Now I'm just trying to figure out if that first number they wrote down is really a negative number or if it was just a dash.... errr... either way, that one is way off and the other number is one number above the normal range. Thanks.
Did you call them? Did the Doctor give you any medicine or any suggestions for your liver? If you were at a dangerous risk they would probably want you to come in or for you to be seen in the near future. Are you in any pain?
didnt call yet. no, the practioner told me not to worry about it but not to totally dismiss it either.... whatever that is supposed to mean. lol.
Will you have to go in for any more blood work or will you be following up with your practicianer soon? Maybe what she was trying to say to you is that if you didn't change a few things it might be at risk? Either way I think it will be fine. You've had a few stresses and you've got a cold. Maybe that throws your number off?
Any of those numbers being off is an indication that there is either a chronic or temporary problem in your liver. Get tested for hepititis B and C, if numbers are still off. First, get those HEP B and C tests from a home test that you send in and they do not know who you are, not totally exact but will tell you if you should go further. Rehab from whatever has a effect on those numbers too. Chill on any conscious altering substance, including tobacco, as long as you can. Drink 64 ounces of water a day, starting when you see this.
