Suggest some romantic songs for a perfect evening. Now everyone knows theres Marvin Gaye's "lets get it on". But come on lets be honest, its a little tacky, and she might just laugh. I'm talkin colemanhawkings, ella fitzgerald, billie holiday, sinatra. Think about it, cuz nothin makes a night more romantic than good tunes. And I'm sure you'll agree theres nothing wrong with setting aside the "freaky stuff" for awhile and romancin the girl. Show alittle class for a night. Alright have at it.

If I came over and you were playing "Let's get it on," I would double over in hysterics.

But seriously, Eazy-E is the way to go.

2 Live Crew i think would hit the spot or some Weird AL...Amish Paradise will have her moaning in heat..

seriously though, just play whatever music you like but dont turn it up loud..
i like getting it on to some sublime with it turned down some so you can just hear it a little..

Yeah, Weird Al is definitely the way to go...or maybe some Urban Chipmunk.

hahaha, i would crack up at marvin gaye or barry white.... unless he was purposely being hokey.. and then i would laugh but not feel bad about it. playing what you like, prferably something with romantic lyrics, or something meaningful, or something, is good.

something instrumental I think.. vocals tend to detract from the mood imo. sometimes u just want to hold someone and be held and (cliche as it is) words get in the way.

also something with a strong solo instrument preferably from the tenor range.. ideally tenor sax.. one evening etched in my mind is one I spent with my (then) love listening at a club to a local jazz band (can't even remember who!). but they started to play "the way you look tonight" with the tenor sax blazing a glorious trail of sound. we just turned to look into each others eyes and I knew we'd found a communion between our souls that I'd rarely experienced. we left after that song. somehow it didn't seem that anything else they played could have us reaching the same heights.

"I Could Not Ask For More" and "I'll Be" both by Edwin McCain. I love those songs.

    Thank You - Led Zeppelin

Other than that, the greats...in my mind...are: Al Green, Louis Prima, Louis Armstrong, and Nat King Cole.

I don't know if this is romantic, but I like to listen to Thievery Corporation's album "The Mirror Conspiracy" when I'm $*%ing.

The song "If All Else Fails" by Matchbook Romance.

It's one of the few romantic songs that I actually do like, and that band's ONLY song that I like.

    But I <3 it, it's adorable, really.

If you're looking for a quiet, pleasant, hippie album, check out "Celtic Legend" by Llewellyn. =) Very peaceful and serene, mood-lifting music.
