Meleah wants to be a forest sprite. It started out as Mother Nature, but she changed her mind. Anyhow, I'm making her a green dress with a sheer, sparkly overlay. We are going to put a wreath of flowers on her head and sew single flowers and leaves all over the dress. She wants some bugs, like butterflies and dragonflies and ladybugs, too, but I haven't found those yet. She is going to be so cute!

Croix is going to be a big fat poofy dragon with shiny wings and Noah has still yet to decide... its between a girafe or aligator. Either way they just want to dress up and growl at people.

Emily is going to be Hermione from Harry Potter.
Sydney is going to be a black cat.
Bella is going to be either a dinosaur or a kitten, whichever still fits her on Halloween. She gets hand-me-downs.

Dad showed the big girls a catalog of costumes, so of course, they wanted those instead of making their own (my preference). Oh well......

My youngest wants to be a fire truck, so I am using a cardboard box for his truck to be worn with suspenders, and he'll be a fireman driving it.
I did the same type of thing last year, he was a WWI flying ace..:D

I work at a dance studio and all the kids are so excited about halloween...I think I've heard everything. Their ideas make me giggle and wonder why I couldn't be that creative at their age!

My nephew is going to be Bob the Builder...

i brought some costumes home from the thrift store, so the kids could choose, but i wouldn't have to spend a ton of money--Ryvre grabbed the Peter Pan outfit, and he's been obsessed over it for a whole week, haha. He just happened to pick out a hat at the Renaissance festival earlier this month that goes with it perfectly. Willow picked Kiari (Simba's daughter from the Lion King 2). They're both super-excited.

I can't wait to see the little forest sprite. I love fairies of all kinds. EarthyMama, I have a really cute giraffe costume that I could send you for really cheap. Dakota wore it two years ago when he was 18 months old. It was way to big on him then. It's really warm, plus fabric. Let me know if you're interested. I hope everyone sends us pictures.

Dakota wants to be an "a tro naut". I just got him a really cute suit on ebay.

hehe I'm cheap, they are just wearing their "play costumes". We have a giraffe, its one of those fuzzy jackets with the hood as the head and it has these velvetly pants. Thank you though! I'd def take you up on that if I didn't have one. I just thought of something... I'm wondering if we should have a "costume swap". Before or after halloween to trade out ones our kids don't fit for ones they might. Hm, prob have to be organized by an organized mama(or dad) to sort all the details out but it might be a good idea for budget conscience mamas and dads.

I think Robert is going as a duck but I still am wondering whether I'll have the time to make a lego costume instead.

That is almost the exact costume Maddie is going to wear for her gypsy costume! I made her a pink shiny tiered skirt, I bought her this light pink shawl thing to tie around her waist, I'm going to put a black wig on her to hide her blonde hair, with a blue and silver head scarf, and lots of jewelry.
