When i was at a music festival in Coromandel New Zealand, i bought some herbal X which they were selling at the rave. i maybe took one too many but the effects were horrible. i had a terrible headache & couldnt piss properly for a couple days, i also threw up. These things are supposedly made from combinations of different amino acids such as 5 HydroxyTriptophan etc...
Has anyone else had any experiences with this stuff ?

The active ingrediant in "herbal highs" is BZP(1-benzylpiperazine) and TFMPP (m-trifluoromethylphenylpiperazine),
at least in NZ anyway. In my experiance wit them the piperazines are a veery "dirty buzz",
especially if the pills contain TFMPP as well as BZP. BZP itself has a much mre energising effect without TFMPP,
w2hich makes you feel like crap basically. I have also notice problems with urination associated with these
"herbal higghs". Slight impotence occurs after long-term use as well, at least for me.
(long term-once or twice a week for 6+ months). What was the pill called? What did it look like? I might be able to hellp you wth
    ID of what you took.

that's really weird - In the US, BZP is a Schedule I controlled substance, meaning no accepted medical use and high potential for abuse/dependence. In other words, schedule I means totally illegal and really illegal, with the exception of mj. MJ is the only schedule I that won't get you in jail for a long time. Mj if under an oz is a misdemeanor in my state, where you get probation. But in colorado, it's basically legal, everytime you get caught you just pay a $100 fine.

But back to what i am saying, in the US, "herbal ecstacy" is a combination of pseudoephedrine and caffeine. both are not controlled substances. But BZP is highly illegal. It's just funny how you guys rant about it. I've never heard anyone i know personally do it, but because it's schedule I (like acid, mdma, and heroin) you'd think it would feel really good.

some drugs are just put on there once they realise people are buyin it. maybe at some point people were buyin it heaps simply caus they could.

as long as people take it, thats what makes it go to schedules

agreed. But if that's true, then why is salvia still legal? i mean, lots of people do that.

Salvia is illegal in some states, such as Alabama and I read that New York is next.

its illegal here. maybe theres the issue of people on salvia simply sittin in their homes and being immobilised that means they cant be bothered scheduling something, thats got an estbalished industry, straight away.

The piperazines are sold here as a legal alternative to meth/mdma etc. The Grin party pills
are one of the worst for bad effects, so ive been tld. Im pretty sure "piperazine blend" means
its a mix of BZP/TFMP/MeOPP. Like I said earlier TFMPP makes you feel like crap, anmd im betting
MeOPP is just as bad, if you are going to take these pills id suggesst trryng to find one that
contains just BZP. (They will all have a mixture of vitamins/amino acids)

go check out those drugs on erowid and you'll see why it made you feel like shit.

BZP and such things are notoriously shitty stimulants and common to find in bad ecstacy, afaik

when i went to New Zealand earlier this year me and some friends took these supposedly 'herbal' pills, although they are actually completely man-made chemicals with BZP and TFMPP, and yeah they were called grins, and we didnt really actually expect them to work considering they were 'herbal' and completely legal. but they did and we had an awesome time.. that is until they started to wear off and i had the worst comedown i could ever imagine. not to mention that day we were flying back to australia, so we were still half on it on the plane and started to come down on the plane which made the headache and stomachache a million times worse. i would never recommend these pills to anyone, however i can see why they are legal in NZ cos i think the government there allows it as a legal and non-addictive alternative to party drugs especially ice, which is apparently rampant in NZ
