Uh oh. Now Bush is demanding that Syria be a good neighbor. http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/10/12/bush.syria/index.html .
Bush says he wants to go to the Moon now. Maybe he wants to fight them there too. And some people are gullible enough to believe it. .
All for a war that we shouldn't even be involved in. Yes, let's put the United States in even more debt, the hell with the people who actually reside in the US, let's throw all of our money over seas for a war on terror, which, wait a minute, a war that you can NEVER win!
When Americans' fear of losing their jobs and houses becomes greater than the fear of what Iraq supposedly had to do with 911 there will be an attitude change. I don't think we are there quite yet. .
I, personally, am for the war. I think it was just, just the way it was went about is kinda messed up, we all know the war was for oil, but they are doing some good things over there. We could not being going into such a deep debt if we would cut bloated and uneeded programs such as the Drug War, Social Security, Welfare, Selling off some of the Government assets, cutting pretty much all federal programs, especiall the socialist ones that do more harm then good. Will this ever happen? Probably not. Am I living in a dreamworld? No, I realise with the current two party system this will never happen. But, I would really like to see this.
The ones that complain about welfare the most are usually the first one in line for that government check once their laid off. Does anyone know what our country spends the most money on (by far)? Our military. And here this kid wants to cut social programs that put food in parent's and children's mouths alike to spend more on the military We would not be so deep in debt if our politicians wern't spending our tax dollars to make themselves and their business buddies rich. We would not be so deep in debt if we wern't playing "Extreme Home Make-Over: Iraq" right now. We wouldn't be so deep in debt if had a proper plan for taking over, occupying, and rebuilding of Iraq. We have already given Halliburton billions of dollars already (and planning on giving them more) when they have not done NEAR that amount of work. Capitalism - For those who don't mind taking advantage of the lower class. The perfect system for the most selfish and greedy amongst us.
Interesting, seeing as that is not the way I see it. Social programs can do good, but for the most part welfare breeds laziness. Maybe if instead of throwing money at these people, they should have given themselves the tools to give themselves a good job. I am not saying that all these people are lazy or even have the chance to do this. This is something that can be done far more efficiently, especially if it was not a government program and put in the private sector. I for one would donate money to these programs if the money was not already being stolen from me by our government. That way I could get the money to the people that need it and not the polititians whose only intent is to buy votes. I am a Capitalist and I am part of the lower class, maybe not my parents, but I live paycheck to paycheck. I do not live off the government, nothing the government does should affect me. I just want to live my life, and capitalism gives us an equal chance at succeeding.
The private sector is very shallow in the morals and values department. You want to trust them with education and advancing people who need help? The private sector typically exploits people with needs, not helps them.
OH, but so the government is not corrupt, or does not exploit people with needs or not? The Red Cross exploits folks, and can't be trusted with our needs? The government is one institution that has one way of dealing with things. It's the biggest monopoly and coorporation of them all. Putting these types of programs in the private sector does alot of good. People will donate and give charity to those organisations that do good things and do not exploit people with needs...that is how it works, the shitty organisations with bad business practices don't last, and the ones with a good reputation stay. I have always thought that private schools do a far better job than public ones. Less crime, less violence, better grades, higher success rate, ran more efficiently ...leave the feds out of our schools, if they feel the need to pay for it then pay for children to go to private schools. Simply makes sense to me.
