I used to be pretty chubby, and ever since I became a vegan (5 months ago) i have gotten scrawny as hell (but still very healthy of course). What i am wondering was, the other day i looked at the nutrition facts on chicken, and two big slumps is only 130 calories, and most vegan/vegetarian meals are about that amount, so why is it that meat makes you so fat and vegan/vegetarian soy meals, that equal about the same calories, don't....

PS: this doesn't mean in any way that i would go back to eating meat, i am a vegan for Strong Ethical Reasons

    Peace and love,
    Dan

i think too much protein makes you fat and meat has a lot of protein..

i think it might have something to do with "good fat" vs "bad fat", meat is loaded with the bad kind while there are certain natural things like certain nuts that have the same amount of fat but because its good its better for you
i'm not dietary expert so don't take my word for it, infact i'm one of the few overweight vegans out there
yes we are rare but we exist

Yea.. it's definately a 'good fat' 'bad fat thing'. Meat has way too much of the bad fat.
