Amnesia - Jordaan/Spui - One of the most comfortable shops with the best vibe, shakes, and gear in Dam Grey Area - Spui - Cramped and over crowded (Usualy) but well worth the stop to gear up. Superb weed and hash 2ND to none in this catagory. Tweed Kamer - Spui - Again Small but great music and excellent gear, Cant remember the name but they carry a line of hashes that are excellent. Also the AK 47 from here turned out to be my fav weed of my trip. De Kuil/420 - Centrum - Nice chill atmosphere, Great toons, and decent gear. Abraxas - Nieuwezijdes - The most interesting shop interior wise multi level with a "nursery" on the top floor. Decent gear also. Dont forget to do breakfast at Barneys......Eggs and SweetTooth....MMMMMM
Here are 10 shops I would definitely not go without visiting while in our beloved city. Amnesia - the menu, service, milkshakes, volcano vapo, etc. etc. Bluebird - Blue Cheese, the layout Bushdocter (Rembrandtsplein) - the view, the cappucinos and the ice hasj Central CS - closest CS to Centraal Station - convenient first & last stop De Kuil 420 Cafe - brews, rock n' roll, Bring in eats & Pastry Shop across street Grey Area - the menu Homegrown Fantasy - silver pearl Katsu - their menu and ice hasj Old Church - the view from upstairs Siberie - webcam Have a great getaway mikey! If I had to recommend one shop to anyone who has never visited and wants to experience a good coffeeshop scene then it would have to be De Dampkring. Then It's a toss-up between Homegrown Fantasy and Tweede Kamer stock up. When your with friends, pool table coffeeshops or bars like Hill Street Blues or Coffeeshop 36 are OK to hang out in made even better with the trance style music they both play or later opening and more grittier Nes is another alcohol bar coffeeshop for an older age group. I would avoid Grasshopper, Bull Dog or similar. Anywhere really with the best ''vibe & music'' that you all end up following, traditional old dark-wood, candle-lit, smokey bars are for me, not your brightly lit, brash ones, but that's just me. There are so many other worthy contenders though apart from the above, goes without saying, but we all know that. LOL
I think my fav coffee shop overall would be Amnesia. I love that menu and its in a nice chilled out area of the dam, very nice place for a smoke (especially if its warm enough to sit outside...) !! Grey Area for the menu obviously and Old Church has now turned in to our first port of call on every visit so im very fond of that place. There's plenty more I could mention, and no doubt will do on my return in December !!
