Hello all you anglo-saxon hippy troops! This is for all of the allienated blissed out hippies like me that can't find anyone to hug and make daisy chans with. Are there any folks here from Newcastle upon Tyne or the North-East general area? I'm a bit of a lonesome hippy up here cos every one else seems to be angry and normal with no time for young hippy long haired scruffy bohemian types like meself. If anyone is around the north u probably know me, i'm the turned out high in the sky one thats freakin out in town dancing around with no shoes on.

I feel like I'm constantly stuck inside of that 'people are strange' song by the doors. Is anyone else feeling like this in their own home towns? I'm thinking that we should start a commune...

anyway i look forward to hearing from u lovely folks, not just the northern monkeys like me.

    peace.

ah man it can be awful in the toon! i've lived here since i was 3 and so iv pretty much learnt how to get by without getting to much hassle. I used to have to walk through the big market though on a friday and saturday night after work and i would always be geting spat on and have stuff thrown at me and have people trying to get violent with me. Once some charver set my shoes on fire by throwing a fire work at me! Good thing I wasn't bare foot! Have you heard that 'I Predict a Riot' buzz by the Kaiser Chiefs? It totally sums it up...

    "Watching the people get lairy
Is not very pretty I tell thee
Walking through town is quite scary
    And not very sensible either
A friend of a friend he got beaten
He looked the wrong way at a policeman
Would never have happened to Smeaton
    And old Leodiensian ..........
......I tried to get in my taxi
A man in a tracksuit attacked me
He said that he saw it before me
Wants to get things a bit gory
Girls run around with no clothes on
To borrow a pound for a condom
If it wasn't for chip fat, well they'd be frozen
    They're not very sensible"

im scared of newcastle at night, i really dont like it. however its not bad during the day. i think the furthest ive gone into newcastle when drunk has been the head of steam outside the train station :p

one day i'll venture down to the other head of steam place, the cluny. but i like the one outside the train station, i think its the only possible place in newcastle where i feel a little safe, but then again im usually out in time to catch the last train home.

Id like to give communal living another try, last time round the vibes in the place werent too good.

hey sister hows it going? UK's a pretty weird place - there's loads of really groovy stuff goin on if you know where to look. I'm joining a commune next october in somerset in the south of england, and there are quite a few about.

Lots of indoor ones in buildings that people are squating in or have actually managed to somehow legally aquire. I'm more into the out door communes though like talley valley etc.

what part of holland are you from? iv been to amsterdam a couple of times - very nice.

    peace.

i was born in leiden, not that far from amsterdam,
and i lived in a commune in the woods of the veluwe where i studied shu'em healing (sufi-shamanism)
i lived on the streets and in nature for a while but it's hard to do that on your own, that's why i thought of bringing a group of people together
to live somewhere, anywhere who cares?! in a true form.
(i thought maybe the uk, cause of the nature)

if you ever want to go to holland again, you can stay at my place ofcourse :)

You practice Sufi-Shamanism? Wow, thats pretty rare over here. Are you muslim? I started my training in Shamanism three years ago,(or at least thats when i realised it).

As far as starting a commune is concerned, I think on the pros list, UK can bost some of the most beautiful countryside in the world. A firend of mine that his lived in various different alternative communities is trying to find me a nice out-door commune to live in for a year or two starting next september/october. I'm still trying decide what I want to live in though, i've been very tempted by either a yurt or a tipi, saying that though, i'm starting to think about building a geometric dome.

Thanks for the ivertation to holland, very kind of you, once iv got my own living space ur welcome to come and share a quilt...

    Peace.

    hey :)

no i'm not a muslim at all actually,
it's only the mysticsufi part i practice, their ways of chanting and meditation. the rest pure shamanism.
i think i want to live outside, i've been thinking about the best ways, indeed tipi's or yurts, but not alone.
how did you get started in shamanism?

    hugs :)
