Oh no, of course not. We have stuff like De La Soul

"Mirra Mirra on the wall, Shovel chestnuts in my path..."

WTF is that supposed to mean?

the joke here is that im not actually racist, and your probably arnt either! what actual proof have you got? hwo much do i have to proove anyway. to be honest i think ppl are too sensitive on the subject of racism. So what if i prefer old black music to the newer kind? thats just my taste get over it...

anyway you shouldent go around calling people racist and flinging the term around. It's a very serious subject

    Two bassists in a dispute?

    OooOoOo!!!

    BASS FIGHT!

    As for the referenced MP3:

    KRS-ONE and Chuck D.

I've already spoken about the latter racist. As for the former I'm tired of his played-out sucker MCs rant about how back in the day this and he was the pioneer originator that and how a function of how good/cool you are is how much respect you give him etc.

A megalomaniac and a bigoted nerd.

    Woohoo.

I'll say this for PE - if they were so about Nation of Islam strong black man one million bottlebags etc. etc. why is it that Chuck couldn't even convince his own fellow rapper Flavor Flav to NOT smoke crack and get drunk all the time? There's a band with convictions....

Damn ur reply is so wack , I didnt expect to see such a reply.

I'll start with the PE part...If you dont know about the Nation Of Islam , dont talk about it.Chuck-D isnt a god or a prophet to convince someone to follow a specific organization , members of NOI just send the message , and people are free to agree with it or not , your going to press on someone to follow you ??? WACK.

I dont have to defend KRS ONE , because he is respected in the whole HipHop community , the underground and the commercial artists have respect for him , if you dont know you better go and ask.

People need to be more open minded , because being close minded shows how weak you are and how wack is the culture you follow.

I'm pretty sure he means the soul music of the 60's or gospel...i may be wrong..to this thing you guys call "rap"...Being myself a black person, i don't find his comment racist at all...because i feel rap artists give off a negative image of us people of color, anyways...He's not racist, dude..i know him, and he knows that i'm black, so he doesn't say anything offensive to me about my race or any other minority group...He's just your regular hippy bass player type

RE: I'll start with the PE part...If you dont know about the Nation Of Islam , dont talk about it.

I DO know about Farrakhan, who Chuck D raps is a Prophet and exorts us to listen to. A little anti-white and much anti-Semitic, if I remember correctly. They termed the term "blue eyed devil" if I remember correctly.... yeah that's a nice bunch...

RE: Chuck-D isnt a god or a prophet to convince someone to follow a specific organization ,

"Farrakhan's a prophet and I think that you should listen" (sorry, best as I remember it) - Public Enemy

RE: members of NOI just send the message , and people are free to agree with it or not , your going to press on someone to follow you ??? WACK.

Hey, it's 2005, "wack" went out in, like, 1984.

RE: I dont have to defend KRS ONE , because he is respected in the whole HipHop community , the underground and the commercial artists have respect for him , if you dont know you better go and ask.

Why do you think I'd even give a rat's ass what some guy with his gold chains and his Lexuses and his hos and yawn wah whatever thinks or doesn't think about KRS-ONE?

All I care about is my own opinion.

I can give you, in a nutshell, Eminem, KRS-ONE, and Public Enemy's ENTIRE oeuvre in one sentence (each).

EMINEM: "Mommy doesn't love me waaaaahhhhhhhhhh waaaahhhhhhh you faggot! waaaaahhh I hate you mommy!"

PUBLIC ENEMY: "White people try and bring us down! Elvis is racist! White people try and make us all drunk! Bob Seeger is racist! White people ran slave ships! Elton John is racist! Fight the (racist) power! Donald Duck is a racist!"

KRS-ONE: "I was rappin' before all of you! Respect me! I remember back in the day! Respect me! Yeah, way back when, that's when it was cool! Respect me! I've been doin this for years now! Respect me!"

None of the three messages are particularly interesting. Chuck D might have a point, but then again, it's BORING listening to a lecture all the time, and his ties to anti-white and anti-Semitic folks doesn't wash with me. I don't listen to Skrewdriver, either.

RE: People need to be more open minded , because being close minded shows how weak you are and how wack is the culture you follow.

You know what? I've listened to rap. Hell, in my neighbourhood you can't get away from it. Apparently if Mohammed won't go to the mountain, then the goddamn mountain is gonna shake the windows of Mohammed's HOUSE at 3 am.
