It's the damndest thing. It all started out in the beginning with terrible ph prolems cause I used tap water. The ph would literally change every hour. I started to use distilled water and that solved that. Then, the leaves started to do strange things. When they come out as new growth they look real killer and very healthy. Then after a day growth, They start to twist like a corkscrew. They aren't cupping, They are actually twisting. Look at the pics. These were the best that I could take. I know that it isn't caused from over fert., because I ran clearex through and then clear distilled water for two days afterwards. And still the leaves twisted. What could be causing this? Is my baby destined to be a mutant for life??? HELP!!!!! This plant is only ten days old. the browning leaves that you see were caused by nute deficiency from the ph issue. after i switched to distilled water the nute deficiency disappeared. the growth is very lush and green. no deficiencies. just mutated. i use pure blend pro grow at 1.5 ounces to two gallons of water. stir that up check the ph. adjust if necessary. then i put in 15 ml of thrive alive green. stir that up and check ph. then i add 4.5-5 ounces of diamond nectar and once again stir and check ph. my ph stays rock solid at 6.0. period. it may drift a little higher, say up to 6.3, over a two day or three day period, but i adjust it back down. i am using a home built aero unit with 7 micro sprayers and a propumps 650. i have two airstones being fed by a double lung pump. it is being grown in a three foot x 2.5 foot x 6.5 foot tall cabinet that is sealed for air and light. it is vented by a 650 cfm bathroom fan ducted out the side top. the air intake is on the bottom of the cab so that it takes in cool air near the floor and draws the hot air ou the top. my hood is a growzilla with two af the 150 watt cfl daylights. i also have two of the red spectrum 150 watt ones for flowering. the light is just about as bright as a four hundred halide hid that i had in there before. only half the heat and 1/3 the power bill.
I have seen plants like that, one caused by mutation, the other ones causd by a nutrient imbalance/overdose. For you to be sure in your case, you'll need a ppm meter.
