this'll be the thread to share your worst camping experiences... take, for example, me last summer. i was visiting family in kentucky last year and they decided that we'd go camping in tennessee. my cousin invited her friend from the next house over, and being the nice people that my aunt and uncle are, they invited her mom and brother to come along too. and that's exactly where they made their fatal mistake... pretty much the entire trip, the three adults were getting into arguments all day about who would do what and all that crap, and at night they would get drunk and Jeanie [neighbors mom] would say something really stupid and rude and start even more fights, and we ended up leaving early because everyone was so miserable. i'm supposed to go visit again this summer, and luckily they moved away from their crazy neighbor and we already unanimously decided to never go camping again.
my worst camping experience was at the Scottish music festival T-In The Park. It poured one evening when we were watching some bands. By the time we got back it was dark and someone had stolen the pegs from our fly-sheet (outer cover) so that the rain had basically been running straight in and there was 2 INCHES of water inside our tent! Our toilet paper was actually floating. All we could do was tip it out and lie there until morning, with raindrops bouncing off our heads. We had a laugh about it....afterwards.
well several years back I was camping with some buddies, and this wasn't my worst time but one of my friends... we were all sharing this big 5-man tent and someone had gotten up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom or something, and left the flap open on the tent. well, this was during mosquito season out in the boonies of Alaska...and the mosquitos are BAD BAD here! anyway, all the rest of us had buried ourselves in our sleeping bags but my one friend slept with his arm hanging out and in the morning were laughing our asses off.. we counted on that one arm alone at least 30 mosquito bites! and the same friend ended up getting shot in the leg on this same camping trip....haha...goodtimes
Me and two other friends go camping alot, but one time they invited another friend of ours. Well, he had never been camping before, and it was hell. All he did was bitch. "It's too hot", "I'm sweating", "the ground hurts my back", "There's not enough room in this tent", "it's raining", "an ant just bit me". He never stopped either, just constant bitching for two days strait. You'd think on a camping trip you would expect things like rain, sweat and dirt. He's a cool kid, but so fucking up-tight. Speaking of, don't you hate people who go camping, and they bring all this expesive stuff. People bring along tv's and radios and stoves and shit. Get this, I saw a family once, they brought a blow-up couch and chair! Lol, it was so funny.
haha...the most expensive thing i ever went camping with is a motorhome. my family had a reunion thing and my parents hate camping, so my dad borrowed his friends camper. it was pretty lame...you dont really get the camping experience when you sleep indoors and have your own shower.
