I was born in the wrong decade. I yearn for the days of tie-dyes, teach-ins, and badly publicized acid freak outs. 50 years later I invent the time machine and travel back. Hippie drum circles at protests and "long-hairs". This is my eden, and I won't be thrown out. Do you see what I see? Kalidoscopic beasts trampling down Lake Shore Drive. By the time I decided to skip woodstock, we were 10 million strong. Do you hear me howl, my battle cry? This is our revolution, and this time we win. We learn from the mistakes of the past, and this time we won't quit. This time we take it all, lock stock and non-smoking barrel. It's peace, back by popular demand. This is our kung-fu, and it is strong. Do you know what 15,000 people taking over lake shore drive, chicago looks like? It looks like freedom. I long black snake, flanked by baby blue meanies. I feel it coming on strong again. You had sit-ins, we have die-ins. But we will not die off. We come on with the force of a freight train, and then we blow you away. We are a 60's wet dream. We are all connected, millions strong. We will perservere. This is not a youth movement anymore, this is a world movement. Do you hear London calling? Come freaks, come anarchists, come hippies to. Give us your young, your old, shouting masses yearning to break free. Ride the wave that never breaks, visit the culture that never sleeps. One individual, electrons in his hand, is now the strength of an army. They call it un-american, I say it's time for a new america. D.
Wow Reading this blew me away! it is amazing i love it and the rest of your book i can tell is going to be so incredibly great! best of luck please get a hold of me when it's all said and done! lots of love~emily~
Thanks for the kind words!!! It's a work in progress due to my "unique" writing style (waiting till it just pours out in a burst of inspiration) But I'll make sure to post more as I do it. Peace, Darren
Wow. That honestly surprised me - in a very good way. I read the first sentence, and I have to tell you, I was afraid. I thought it was going to be terrible :& No offense to you, as in, I didn't expect that because of hte author. Just that whole, born in teh wrong decade line is almost like...like using "Throughout History . . ." to open a paper. BUT to get beyond my meanness, after that it was awesome. I quite quite quite like it.
