I saw it when it first came on TV and I have the DVD. I love the music in it! It's over simplified but, it's not that bad. I enjoyed it.

I Hate to say this but Hollywood have a good record of making lousy movies of past periods. the 60s is no difrent matter of fact i cant recall any good ones. That 70s show is far from the real 70s as it can get , maybe they got the cars, the clothes, the record player or the 8 track player right but thats about it. Kids in the 70s got stone , they went to concerts, they got harras by the cops, not everyone hang out in a stupid garage or basement all day either , motocross was popular or dirt bikes, street bikes, we still went to the beach, even some crude video machine existed along with pin ball machines , and they were some wild style shoes and shirts . That 70s show represents very little of what we did in the 70s. Also Hollywood many times stereo type the hip people as a burn out on acid dude with the long hair and the funny glasses .

you want get a accurate feel for the 60s watch the Woodstock 1969 film and see what goes on behind the scene "or outside the stage" . So far Holywood has done a lousy job on the 60s and 70s. a few of the 1980s movies were far more accurate on what was going on in the 1980s. at least the 80s was far better presented.

That 70's Show is a comedy, a satire. I don't think it's ment to be taken too literally. It's just a funny show about the average teenager.
