No, I would happily create people with free will - only I would not punish them eternally for being what I created...human. And I wouldn't give a shit if they "follow" me. Talk about creating a race of robots...what kind of god creates people with free will but requires they use that free will to follow him or otherwise they will suffer for all eternity? YOUR god says: Choose to be my robots or suffer eternally...what a good guy he is [IMG]

Your god's love is conditional. My parent's do a better job at loving me than your all-powerful god does. If it were in their power my parents would not send me to hell after death, regardless of how little I go to church or who I have sex with and when.

This whole what-if game is stupid though. What if Zeus came down and struck you with a thunderbolt? What if aliens turned us all into frogs?

Why have an option between "good" and "bad"?

Why not "good" or "better"? ;)

You'd still have the "Consequential Choice" you call "Free Will".

    *Damn, I should be God's consultant!...Oh wait...there is no God...shit!* :p

we all know that there's good and bad.

we all know that it's good to help people out...to treat eachother the way we want to be treated, that stealing is bad, killing is bad, raping is bad.....every movie and every story has conflict, where good usually wins in the end, (sometimes the bad wins but not near as often)....

how could BAD be GOOD, and GOOD be BETTER?

hehe...the only GOOD thing about BAD is that it is necessary for defining what GOOD is.:H sorry if that's confusing...i hope i explained it well:p

    That's ok.

I don't get why "God" does half the shit he does in the Bible, either. ;)

Good and Bad are just 2 extremes, what about that which falls in between?

    With us or against us?

RE: Okay, if you found that the original texts of the Bible were 100% true

If that was the case, then yes.

    RE: Luke 21:33
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

    Ecclesiastes 1:4 (King James Version)
    King James Version (KJV)

One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

OK, so is it gonna abide for ever, or pass away?

That's why the Bible cannot be trusted. It doesn't even agree with itself!

NOTA: If Jesus is correct all you people in heaven will eventually pass away. I guess only hell will be eternal. Charming.

    You'll torment yourself.

Don't blame your indecision on GOD.

    YOU can choose.

Erise - how do I know YOUR God is the right God?

That I don't die and find out, as Rowan Atkinson joked, that "the Jews were RIGHT...."?

Or God starts screaming at me angrily in Arabic for having eaten pigs....

Back up to your Rowan Atkinson comment, if the Jews were right, then 12 of those jews wouldn't have left Jerusalem after Christ was crucified. Unless, of course, he rose from the dead.

Would they preach Christ being God for any other reason? They were Jewish themselves, they knew if they were wrong then they'd have to face punishment in the afterlife.

    MY PRAYER

I never knew what love was until I met you
You gave me a choice, Hallelujah!
Between your love and a lake of fire
    Praise Your Infinite Mercy!

Even though I had an accident which made me a paralyzed from waist down.
My wife was gangraped and killed, but I guess it was YOUR WILL.
My son was thrown in prison for a crime he didn't commit
My daughter got brain cancer and died a slow, painful death
My grandchild, now without a Mom, is mentally retarded with no limbs
My son-in-law took all my daughter's money and ran off to Bermuda
    PRAISE YOUR NAME!

My other son was called into war and got his head sawed off
My mother's house got burned to ground...with her in it
My father left us when I was 3...after giving my sister a head injury

But, if it hadn't been for you and that difficult choice
    I don't know what I would've done
Well, yes, I do... BURNED IN HELL...ha ha...
    Cuz' that's what I deserved...your Gracefulness
I deserved to BURN IN HELL. We all do.

I am so glad you created HELL. It really makes me love you.
So much more...I am glad that people will go to HELL and
suffer for eternity for not accepting YOUR UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

    PRAISE JEEEEZZUS!!

Thank you, for this garbage I am about to eat and my cardboard box.
Thank you for losing my home, I didn't need it anyway. It was YOUR
WILL, and your will is sooo much greater. I want to jerk off just
thinking about your LOVE and HELL, but I know it is a SIN to pleasure
oneself and I am paralyzed, so that doesn't do me much good.
So, now I am going to take my cat-o-nine-tails out and give myself a good chastising.

And tomorrow I'll do YOUR WILL and kill a few witches.

No one I loved would go to hell but hey maybe Im just not that forgiving. Ive spent the majority of my life going to church but I stopped when I realised the only reason I went was to fill in the gap between breakfast and lunch, which on a sunday morning is something I can do quite easily with sleep.

Im not saying there is no God, i do not pretend to be that arrogant but there comes a point when you have to wonder. After all I gave up standing by the christmas tree waiting for santa when I was 5, and some of what I asked him for actually happened (although I suspect via parents). Id like to believe in more than I can see with my eyes, after they lie so much. Well then, do I believe Jesus? Muhammed? Brahman? The Easter Bunny? Theres a fine line between schitzophrenia (thats gotta be spelt wrong) and belief. Christians say that you have to choose but you need something to tell you which way to go other than a dice (fortunately there are 6 major religions, just chance?).
