    Thank you!

And Jim... I dont give a crap what classes you taught, if thats even true, do you want some laminated award or something cowboy...
I gave my thoughts on it and I could again give two shits what you think... Thats why people have opinions my friend, no matter what you say or how you rant and rave about how smart you are and im just a selfish human being, in all reality you are the selfish one trying to make people think like you...
Again, you will not convince me at all that Im selfish cause I dont care how many kids people have, why? Cause its none of my buisness what people do or how they live their life.. But I guess you are one of those who have to butt in people's lives and tell them how to live it.. Good for you sporto, good for you...[IMG]

IMMORAL??? she's married and all the kids have the same dad & doesn't the bible mention something about being "fruitful & multiplying"?

You get a tax break if you can claim 2 kids & ONLY 2 anymore then that doesn't count for any tax break....remember I have 7, and will assume you don't have more then 2 or else you would have known that.

So now we envoke an outdated, inaccurately translated book to justify greed? The bible was written in a time of sparce population. The edicts of that time certainly do not apply to our already vastly overpopulate planet. As far as i am concerned, the New testament is primarily a work of propagand in any event. Especially the king james version

Not taking responsability for your actions and burdening all our progeny with the natural outgrowth of those choices is simply unkind and immoral by any definition i understand.

Why should anyone get a tax break for having kids. If the government placed a heavy tax burden on those who chose to have children, then at least we would be encouraging people in the correct direction.

Having 16, 25, or 7 kids is reprehensible, selfish and is in effect cursing your children's future!

    Jim

There is a possibility that technology will enable humans to extend the time before the house of cards comes crashing down, but not likely by space expansion. There is one very interesting piece of work by a group of mathematicians that pretty well shot down that theory of negating the Malthusian dilemma.

The gist of the argument is that as we build habitats in space, if the culture has not evolved, then those building and living in those first extraterrestrial habitats will procreate at a rate to fill all such habitats that can be built. There will be no additional room for Terrans to leave for. As we create more habitat, we just fill it and destroy it just as we are currently doing with the Earth.

Technology may allow more humans to live, but at what cost. Are we so arrogant and selfish that we will deny all other species the right to exist for the sake of our own blind greed and unchecked reproduction. Without predators, we must learn to control ourselves.

    Jim

PS: I do not suggest that I am any better than anyone else because i "taught a class". When someone questions the authority of information sources, it is usually a reasonable response to support an argument by either quoting an authoritative source, or to submit your qualifications as such an authority. In this way, i suggested that this area of thought has been an area of my professional life. I taught science in a top-rated university for more than a decade. I am now a science entrepreneur and one of the worlds foremost authorities on certain aspects of nanotechnology. I am also a fervent environmentalist and critic of globalization. I hate to see people spout misunderstandings and call it science fact!

The guy talks about what is "immoral" and meanwhile, says he's a polygamist pagan radical in his profile.....

So when you have sex with all these women, do you wrap it up or just make them all get their tubes tied first?

Yet another twit who thinks the USA is the entire world....you and Bush should have tea....

The problem living out in space is a natural or plain accident up there would leave you with out oxygen or water or food . on earth survivors could scrach some from some where, up there it would be a total lost. only another planet with the same climate could insure humans of being around.

I did not propose space habitats. I stated that the earth is not the only place were raw materials and energy is available. Migration never solves population problems even forced transportation did not improve the living conditions in London. Please do not extrapolate from what I say.
