    I find it impossible...
BUt how would describe a high?
It's a warm blanket over your eyes. A lightness in your head. But also a heaviness. You feel good. You feel relaxed. You feel funny. You feel stupid. You feel smart. You feel great. You feel sleepy or maybe hungry. You feel lucid. You feel alive. You feel beauteous. You feel chill. You feel crazy. You feel sane. You feel, yes you feel... You feel so very high..........

you cant use words. its exactly the same as explaining colour to a blind person. words mean nothing unless both people know the meaning of the words. a blind person CANNOT know the meaning of any words expressing colour, and a person whos not been stoned CANNOT know teh meaning of words explaining being high.

    just doesnt work man

but yeh all those words are good

The closest things I can describe being high to a non-stoner is like:

    ...being on a roller coaster
...having the ability to feel music
    ...swimming in a cool pool
...opening your mind to ideas you never thought of before
...feeling a cool breeze on a hot day
...being wrapped in warm blankets on a cold winter night
    ...amplifying your current mood

that's all I can think of

when i read the blanket analogy my only response was .... woahhhhh... :D its totally a perfect analogy for being high (in my opinion), or at least as close to perfect as you can get. coming down is like having the blanket slowely pulled off of you too! wow.

I've thought about the color description before. I think you could try to describe characteristics of the color, for example: red is hot, blue is cool, green is like the smell of plants and moss. They would never SEE the color, but you could try to give them a concept of color. As you are doing with your warm blanket analogy.[IMG]

i think the word 'high' is one of the good sort of describing words for actually being high... ironic?

the ONLY readon red is hot and blue is cold is because hot things in general go warm colours, icons of hell are red and such. icons of cold, or of the ocean or whatnot are cool colours, icon for ice being light blue and such.

for a person who has never seen colour, they dont have these links, and thus, you would be saying 'that fire looks.. like its hot' and theyd be like 'yeh i can fuckin feel that already', and then youd say well this peach looks similar colours and theyll feel the peach and it will be cool from teh fridge. they would not be able to transfer the ideas because they think of heat and such in terms of feeling.

in fact, physically, warm colours should be the blues and purples, for warm implies energy and the 'cooler' colours are higher in energy.

sorry but you just cant do it.
