So I go to school at the University of Toledo in Ohio and a group of us (including some cool cats from Columbus), were going to march AGAINST the Neo-Nazi march yesterday. I ended up getting called into work on Saturday and a couple of my friends that were supposed to go ended up not being able to because of car trouble, sickness, etc. Come to find out there was a huge riot. A part of me is bummed I miss the excitement. The other part of me is really glad I didn't go... I probably would have gotten arrested LOL...
hmmm, all the protests and marches I've ever been to were peaceful and fun. Then again, I live in Saskatoon, no one really cares
the funny thing is that the nazi's left BEFORE the riot got going. the rioters were targetting the police and helpless houses. AHAHAHAHA. people are stupid.
I wouldn't be surprised if people just wanted to riot and cause some general chaos, and just used the march as an excuse to fuck shit up.
wouldn't be the first time. i read that people were furious with the mayor and police for allowing the stupid nazis to march, but what sort of mindless drivel is that? just go ahead and ocmpletely disregard the whole "right to assemble peaceably" thing...
It was a big deal. A girl I work with said yesterday she was in Toledo at a seminar and they wouldn't let them out of the building, said they had started a fire and all this crazy stuff.
