if he waved his fat hand and cured world poverty and made touching weapons impossible as it would mentally hurt you, so we would have world peace (this applies to physically attacking ppl).

or maybe even better IF HE ACTUALLY SHOWED HIMSELF - thus he canne' exist

People like us (Campbell34, me, Jesusdied4u, Seahorse, Mollybloom, etc) we've seen God.

Although, by your Logic, Austrailia must not exist because I've never seen Austrailia.

I doubt THAT rediculous logic is going to win anyone over, Erise.

sorry Sera, but the whole "I can't see Him so He must not exist" logic isn't the smartest thing in the world either.

Yeah because you're meant to replace "see" with "no more proof than the easter bunny".

People created weapons and world poverty, not God. So why is it His job to clean up the mess?

And btw, Austrailia really doesnt exist Erise, Australia however does. But i agree that a 4 year old could come up with better logic.

That's simplifying the athiest POV just a little too much.

But that's ok. Christians are full of cheesy rheortic that over-simplifies every belief that they disagree with. It's nothing we aren't used to.

(BTW - every atheist is aware that gravity exists even though we can't "see" it)

I didn't say His face. And I didn't say ONLY us four. I believe every christian has seen/sensed/heard God at some time, even if they don't realize it.

I myself have never done drugs, mate.

Ever tried just believing in him? ;)

Are you sure you want him to show Himself? Seems to me that he gets pretty fucking drastic when he does...floods, plagues, genocide etc.......

If He is ignoring us for some reason....mebbe that ain't a bad thing at all.....

    hi :)

yeah but if god is all powerful and made the world and us then surely he knows what we are going to do and has control over us, but then some christians say that he gave us free will so who is right and who is wrong?

    peace and love

God knows what's going to happen, but it's still us that's making the choice. In a way, they're both right.

Yet god still creates each and everyone of us, knowing exactly what we do and what choices we will make in life, including wether or not we will end up in heaven.

Then tries to sell the idea that we have free will.

Why does god create us knowing we will go to hell, then cover that fact up with "free will"?

The sad thing is, you will still try and make it sound like we have free will. That's the standard reply to the question I posed.

just becasue GOd knows what we will do, doesnt mean that He's making us do anything. He is GOd, and He is all knowing, so of course He knows what we will do while here on earth. We make our own choices. It's a beautiful and dangerous thing.

some people, like doubting Thomas, need to see to believe. THomas didnt believe it was Jesus standing in front of him until he saw His hands and feet, scarred form the crucifixion.

People need to believe to understand, not understand to believe.

    1 Corinthians 1:18-25
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God… Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Greeks, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
