What did you guys think? It's good to see DiNero play something different for a change, I enjoyed the movie, and the surprise ending was a great twist.
I agree, that movie was complete shit! I had the ending pegged before starting the movie and low and behold, I was right. Dakota Fanning can act though, but DeNiro has fallen off.
Man, that breaks my heart. I fuckin love DeNiro, and I didn't know it was going to end that way...... I thought it was good.....
Don't fret veggie. De Niro is still one of the greatest actors and if anything copmpensated the film in the slightest, it was his colorful presence. Still, it was a shit film if you weigh up the fact that a Nancy Drew mystery has probably got more depth and less predictability. The thriller started off really well, but somewhere halfway through the film they gave the plot away. It needed more characters to widen the mystery, but the minute De Niro started acting like a runaway lunatic it became mediocre. It reminded me a bit of Scooby-Do where they all get chased by some ghost or monster, except that the old Scooby is actually better. This film needed a bad ending to give it saving grace. In terms of predictability and plot look at another thriller with De Niro in it: Angelheart. Classic. It has fine detail and it's a movie you can watch again.
I havn't seen it, but i will take a peek. What about Godsend with De Niro? did any one see that? Is it worth watching?
i agree with most of u.. hide and seek was incredibly disappointing. it was just... boring, and there were some pointless scenes which did nothing to actually add more suspense or even strengthen characters. Godsend, however, i did enjoy, it was thoughtprovoking and interesting, however i dont think id watch it again. it did remind me a bit of the movie Birth with Nicole Kidman, which i thought was an amazing and eerie movie.
