.......Just be nice To The Man. Quite a few years ago, when I was 18 or so, I got busted for a small amount of pot, and a bowl. In Ohio, pots been decriminalized, but paraph..... para... par...Bowls and shit like that haven't. Anyway, at the time, there were like six of us searched, and I kept the weed and bowl in my pocket, and didn't say shit. So, they almost forget to search me, one of them notices I haven't been searched yet, bing, bang, the Man has my bowl and pot. Great. So, They pull the usual cop shit, pullin us aside one at a time, asking weird questions, trying to get us to narc on each other, blah, blah, blah, right? It's all over, they took my pot, a joint my buddy had, and my bowl, and they go to write up tickets. Yeah, the tickets thing. Usually, I'm able to get off the hook by just being nice to the cop, and them just taking my shit, right? But not this time, some girl we were with started yelling about 'rights' and shit, and giving the cops a hard time, so, me and my buddy get tickets. From the time the coppie found my shit, I've been a saint, remembering my Sirs and Ma'ams, talking with respect, not brownosing, but also not trying to get the cops madder than they were. Ok, so, the cop explained that I was being charged with Misdermeanor Possesion of Marijuana, I could expect to be in court blah blah blah, gave me a ticket and let me walk away. Hmmm. Did they forget about the bowl? Am I away from a huge fine and possible jail time? OK! About 20 steps away, I hear a voice from behind me, "Oh, by the way, Kevin!" I turn around and theres the 'Good Cop' with my bowl in his fingers, he's holding it up like a prize fish. "You know, Kevin, in Ohio it's alot worse having one of these than having pot. I'd hate to have to write-" I cut him off right there, "I bet you'd like to see that bowl smashed against that wall over there, Officer?" Dude let me smash my bowl against a wall, and pick up the peices (so he didn't have to ticket me for littering) and get off without a huge fine. Nice guy. So, to finish the story, that was the last time I got busted (Edit: Well, in Ohio, at least). Mainly, cause I never went to court for the drug charge. (Many reasons for that, mainly laziness, and a deep need to Go Elsewhere I get every couple of months.) So, I was horribly paranoid about a bench warrant, so, I didn't do much wrong, at least in a cops eyes, for years afterwards. The paranoia got to me, and I said fuck it, I'm going to court. So, I get to court, right? It's in Columbus, downtown muni court, and I'm almost last on a whole day of cases. The judge is handing out fines left and right, putting a few people away, real fire and brimstone typea guy. Finaly, it's my turn. I real scared, cause in Ohio, they can take away any chance of Govt. funding for college and shit, and take your licence away for six months for Possesion. So, I go before the judge, Plead Nolo Contendre to Misdermeanor Possesion. He says, "Ok, first off, why did it take you 5 years to come before me?" I gave him no excuses (Another good way to get off clean, The Man hates excuses). He asked a few more questions, I replied truthfully, with many 'yer Honors', and a few 'Sirs' and what not. He looked over his notes for a sec, and says "Ok, Kevin, Im going to charge you with Public Nusance, pay the Clerk $50, Next." A five year old bench warrant, a smashed bowl, a fifty dollar fine for being stupid and getting caught, and I still have no drug charges on my record. Politeness is the shit.

YOU ARE SO LUCKY. YOU WERE AN ADULT. I was arrested for 2 grams and i was real nice to the cop. Being friendly is important, but a lot depends on the cop. Most cops take your weed, whether they ticket you or arrest you, and smoke it.
Even if you hate cops it is good to be nice, i cant really blame them for being worse with someone who is bein a complete arse to them.
