What, in your opinion, are albums that tell stories.
examples are, The Wall by Pink Floyd or
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust ASFM by David Bowie.

The ULTIMATE story telling albums are as follows:

    The Who - Tommy
    The Who - Quadrophenia

Pete Townshend invented the story telling album. He calls them "Rock Operas."

yes some good ones were named...

    rush-hemispheres
    rush-2112

    side a of both albums

i'm sure there are many more...of course we can't include classical or opera :)

i kinda think R.A.T.M.'s first two albums may qualify.

Theres an English guy called The Streets who raps, well, not really raps, cant quite explain it, you would have to hear it for urself. His new album is called A Grand Dont Come For Free and it tells a story, starting from the first song when his day goes totally wrong, takes the dvd back to the video store and the disc isnt in the box, battery dies in his mobile fone, loses the grand that he was meant to be taking to the rendevous, etc. Just a shit day generally. The rest of the album tells you bout how he thinks his friend stole his gf and his money, then he gets wasted in a club on ecstasy.......its really good. Not the kinda thing I would normally listen to but after a few listens I'm hooked! I've had it on my stereo non-stop for the past two weeks! I would recomend it to everyone.

Tells a story? You mean a concept album?

Off the top of my head, I'd say Metropolis Pt. 2--Scenes from a Memory, by Dream Theater.

I have to agree, the best story album has to be The Wall.
