Last month I decided to stretch my ear lobe piercing to 8. So I bought a pack of 16 gauge rings to start out. There were four in the pack. Well, they went in very easy. No pain,no redness,no bleeding,no nothing. I've had my ears pierced for about 9 years, and I used to wear dangling earrings alot. Well, today I decided to try to fit in another 16 gauge ring into my ears. Now I have 2 16g rings in each hole. It doesn't hurt much, but it is a little red,yet no blood. It didn't really go in as easily as one did last month, but it didn't take much difficulty. Are my ears another gauge now? Should I just take them out and try to go to a 14 gauge? *confused*

Hehe. Yes of course you ears are another gauge if you put two 16g in. I pressume they would be about...10gauge now. If you put 14 in I think it would fall out.

I have 14teen piercings ranging from 12ga to 00ga.and i have stretch majority myself(just so you don't think i'm full of sh** j\k)
the way your stretching them you could do damage to the tissuse.
I think you should take them out and stretch them with one piece of jewelry at a time. For the lobe you can skip two sizes at a time and go from 16ga to 12ga then wait at least a month,to insure no damage to the tissue, cleaning them twice a day (like if it was new)and then go from 12ga to 8ga also cleaning them twice a day
    hope it helps

I streatched mine from a normal 1.6 mm to 5 mm in a week, no problems, but done the rest over a period of a year, I just do it as & when I feeled like it.
    Now I'm 22mm ish or size 00g

well ive known people who have gone from a 16ga pierce and stretch it up to 12mm within a few hours.. without problems.. but thats just stupid

or you could just get a scalpel or punch it out.. my mate just got his pierced straight to 6mm a few days back

Maybe a month ago I decided to move from a 12 to an 8. I was thinking about saving money at the time, so I thought "Hmm... maybe I can just skip a gauge." I found out soon enough that it hurts like a fuckin' bitch to skip a gauge, and I don't appreciate the pain much. So I did pretty much what you're doing..

I put in my old 14 and then the 12 which I was stretched to at the time.

Damn! did that hurt like a bitch.. yes, yes it did. I heard a *pop* and cracked open the inside of the hole to fit both in. For the next week and a half or so, I put hydrogen peroxide on it 3-4 times a day to prevent infection.

After it had mostly healed, I took both rings out to put the 8 in. As I pulled them out, I noticed that I now had two differently shaped holes in my ear, not separrated--together--but you see, the hole took the shape of the two rings even though I moved them around a lot. This worried me.

So I said, "Oh shit" and pushed the 8 in slowly, to make sure it wouldn't rip anything. Of course the stretching hurt but I got it in, it felt good, only red for a couple days. Now it has been a couple weeks since I put in the 8 and it's totally healed and ready to be stretched again. Next time I'm buying a 6 instead of skipping.

I guess what I'm trying to say is watch out--It's probably not a good idea to put two rings in the same hole. If you can, just buy the next gauge up. If not, I'd go by a series of 3 rings, because of the misshapen hole that 2 rings can cause (and i'll bet that over long periods of time, it's not very healthy to leave multiple rings in, anyways.)

I just recently guaged my ear to a 2. I love it. It took me like 1.5 weeks to go from a 14 to a 2. I bought the cone looking things to strech them and they worked fine.
