okay I've been playing on my keyboards for few years and I've spend lot of good time. But now I'm looking to buy a synth. Thing is, I've read lot of infos about synth that are more into hiphop and techno, but I'm more into psychedelic... do you know some good synth for psy stuff but not too much expensive.

Find analog synths or synths that do analog well. Korg does a good job of em.,

nothing sounds more psychedelic to my ears than vintage 70's analogue synths, Arp, Korg, Moog, etc, but you've probably got to be prepared to get what you pay for in that area. Also Roland TB303's that were made in the early-mid 80's (made very popular in late 80's early 90's for acid sounds) you can often pick up second hand fairly easily especially online as they've fallen out of fashion in recent years, although you can download 303 emulator software on-line very cheaply

A good synth to invest in, and one that i have used frequently is th 'ms2000', produced by korg. This synth is an analoge modelling synth. It has a barrage of knobs on the front panel, and a vocoder (plug a mic in the back and you can create 'kraftwerk' style vocals.

It also has an 'audio in' connection on the back, whereby, you can run a cd player, or any such device, and you can then 'effect' the song that is playing by using the controls on the synth.

It has two envelope generators, white noise, and a million and one different filters that can can produce thick pads, sweeps, low end fat bass sounds all controlable by the front panel.

price is around £500, but can sometimes get them for £350/400.

hope that has helped, and don,t forget to check out korg.com or put 'korg ms2000' into a search engine. good luck.mark

I'd rather just buy a Rhodes piano.
