My very favorite is definitely Television, and The Talking Heads have the 2nd place.
I also love Patti Smith... and lots of others but it's not like I own a whole album by them, I just know a few songs.

    What about you?

You know, it is awfully difficult to seperate new wave from punk since many bands were equally grounded in both (Wire, Television) and that anyway, punk was part fo the new wave movement.

My favorites are also Television and The Talking Heads certainly, though if we include punk it would include tons of other bands as well.

There are a handful of early New Wave bands I like. The Talking Heads and Television would probably be at the top of my list, but I also like some stuff by Gary Numan, XTC, and early Devo.

Some of Klaatu, especially the later albums, were on the edge of new age...and even techno. Pretty far out for the times.

Yesterday, I got one of the best surprises of my life: I heard some really good new wave by King Crimson, from the early 80's. It was really good! I really had no idea they did that kind of stuff... I should get that album, Discipline
