has anybody lived in turkey?well if you saw the 7 days celebrated as killing the sheep you would exactly be vegan.it s really horrible.thýnk for a while, you are living ýn a country where all the people cut sheep(also cow, camel..)for just relýgýon and of course for theýr meal, for 7 days you see blood on the streets, and the people are happy celebratýng thýs festýval.i can t get out of the house for 7days.

i reject being part of thýs country, religion and society.

It's really weird. I have been to muslim countries, and the more modern the country is, the more the people reject this practice. The one, which is a so called "third world country", everyone considers it very entertaining. In other two countries, especially women are grossed out by it. I lived in tunisia, and there, people don't even do it anymore on the streets. I have lived there for a while, and have barely seen any bloody streets.

    dear kastenfrosh,

well if you lived in turkey, you would see lots of blood.especially ýn the small cities its normal for the people to see blood everywhere, they are all used to ýt,but not me.ýn the big cities the police is evereywhere to see if anyone is cuttýng outsýde,ýts more moderne, but you can always bumb ýnto blood, sheep head, sheep feet...i don t know about tunisia but here in turkey the people are so happy to cut and kill the animals. 7 days ý pass wýth sorrow.well all the týme ý pass wýth sorrow because all the people eat meat everyday.

well here the streets don't run with blood as you describe...it is all done in places called abbatoirs....however I don't think I need to see the streets running with the blood of slaughtered lambs to come to the conclusion that killing animals is a bad thing. This makes me vegetarian...however I am not sure that streets running with the milk of cows goats and sheep and the eggs of chickens would make me vegan...

if you see the killing of animals of course you might find that it makes you think twice about eating their flesh...for others it doesn't necessarily put them off eating it. Countries such as Turkey and Tunisia have some of the best and healthiest vegetarian diets available and such foods offer people from all over the place welcome variety. Take care and good luck with being vegetarian but maybe starting with yourself and staying strong with that is the best thing to do.
