Personally I think people protesting against hunting have nothing better to do and its like a little weekend protest event for them. If you like foxes so much, why dont all the protesters chip in money and start a fox breeding centre? As for the people who hunt foxes, all I have to say is "WHY?" what use is a dead fox for a person? I mean, I have been hunting. Just because i like the feeling of being on "the hunt and exploring the terrain just like a tribe member would to provide food for their family. I enjoy that. and wild rabbit curry does taste great!
Insight m - i was going to respond to your post...until i re-read it and realized how ridiculous your post actualy was.
As if animals arent chased in the wild and terrified. If you are against animals being terrified maybe you shouldnt drive a car anymore, I mean, those birds might be mighty scared when your big gas guzzling suv comes head on at them. And while were at it, lets stop opening our house doors or making any noise. People forget that humans are animals too, we hunt in a lot different manner. As long as there is a stable amount of the animals being hunted I dont see why its such a cause of distress. You must also remember that not that many people hunt compared to the how many people live in this world. Mass poachings and animals killings are a lot worse than people going and shooting a few animals every year
i see why people are against fox hunting and yeah i am too, but im not against shooting pheasants and so on so long as they're used i.e eaten on the night or whenever. Yeah your gonna find a bit of lead shot in it, the thing was shot using a led pellet gun! but so what, pick it out if your that bothered.
As I've said all along, the greatest threat to the beloved fluffy animals is the erosion of their habitats through building developments, and the spread of man. In all fairness I've never understood why so many people get wound up on both sides regarding a single fox, when nobody bats an eyelid when another thousand acres goto housing or factories, resulting in the loss of not just hundreds of types of animals in that area, but also the plant life, trees and water areas that were once there!
Probably because they dont want their foxes dumb as shit. I think its more a matter of a different feeling. You just dont get the same, whatever they get, when they hunt. You just dont understand I suppose, I dont hunt so neither do I.
I have nothing better to do with my myself WTH - i do, i protest over the way they murder foxes, a fox breeding centre would only make the problem people think they have with foxes worse, and you said you have been hunting - i really wanna chase you round a big field with something that scares the shit out of you then rip you gut's out and kill you - would you like that? Providing food for your family???? seriously do you eat foxes? maybe after the hounds (which get forced into hunting) have finished then their might be a bit of blood for you and your so called family to eat left over, im sorry but if you think you can come on here and say shit like this you are wrong - i will aruge till the day i die about hunting - you are a fucking twat and a murdering bastard - i hope you rott R.I.P ------- damn people like you piss me off, just out of interest would you hunt a child?
And what warranted your comment about nobody bats an eyelid when our countryside is destroyed to make way for development? have i posted on your thread agreeing with you on how destructive it is to wildlife?..yes cymru jules..i have.... man is the cause of much suffering in many ways to the wildlife of this or any country. That wiggy has found a constructive way to do her bit is commendable..... that doesnt mean that she doesnt give a flying fuck about deforestation....
may i just ask, why are we arguing about something that has been passed through parliment and is now over and done with? hunting foxes is banned now, simple. Now let's all go home and have a nica cuppa tea.
Not so simple Jonathan...... Making sure they really stop Despite the fantastic news that hunting with dogs will become an illegal offence on February 18th 2005, the League recognises that we still have work to do. A vocal minority of hunters has promised to break the law by continuing to chase, torture and kill wild mammals despite the fact that their vile 'sport' has been outlawed. In practice, we suspect that many hunters will wish to abide by the law instead of getting a criminal record. However, there will no doubt be those who do break the law and these people will do so knowing that they will have to bear the consequences. Investigating possible offences is a matter for the Police; bringing prosecutions is a matter for the Crown Prosecution Service. It is important that these bodies perform their roles effectively, but we can assist the police by sharing knowledge and evidence gathered so that a criminal act can lead to an arrest. The League Against Cruel Sports and its members will be able to assist the police by monitoring hunts in order to make sure that they are abiding by the law and that evidence is gathered if they cease to do so.
But as jonathan says, now it's been banned and you've still got people protesting at hunts - when they could be doing something about environmental issues. I'm not saying protesting at hunts now is a *complete* waste of time, but the rewards of success now are tiny compared to what could be achieved by even small groups offering limited opposition to the continued destruction of the habitats.
i do thing's about enviroment issue's as well though - and they do still hunt. Just because something is banned does it mean that people will stop? Nope, i suggest you open your eye's - look into life and maybe just maybe you will whats really there.
wiggy....if you are interested the League Against Cruel Sports needs people like you who care about what is happening to our wildlife in the name of sport.. with the pheasant shooting season just begining now is a good time to get involved... the mass rearing of these beautiful birds has already taken place and these hand reared naive birds have already been let loose into our countryside just waiting for the mentaly sick among us to pay hundreds for a days shoot... it doesnt matter how little time you have to help....anytime you can spare is valuable to them... You may email the League at info@league.uk.com
Ermmm, wiggy - I suggest it's you lot who open your eyes. The fact is, we have a group of very active protestors that could save and preserve so much of our wildlife of many different species - not just foxes - and yet we now have the farce of them hanging around on a hunt on the off-chance that they might be breaking the law. I don't know whether it's a raw emotion thing or the fact that protesting at hunts is more exciting because you get to see and confront the opposing side up close.
cymru jules..... we all have our own way of dealing with whats happening to our wildlife... destroying our countryside through redevelopment is just one issue....cruel sports is another and you should not dismiss those of us that choose to become active protesters against animal cruelty just because you believe 'your' way to be more constructive.
I dont just hang around either - its not just foxes i protest about killing believe me - i protest about quite alot, the way you are coming across is like a hunter, i dont think you can see whats really out there. I don't know whether it's a raw emotion thing or the fact that protesting at hunts is more exciting because you get to see and confront the opposing side up close. Are you kidding me with that quote? D o you not understand that i try and make a difference to animals life's? i dont do it for the buzz so to speak - its not all that fun seeing a fox get ripped to shread's - believe me.
I'm not doubting that you are trying to make a difference. I'm just trying to understand why thou persist down a route which can only ever have limited impact. I had to laugh when you said I was coming across as a hunter, is this because I don't agree with you??? I'm in agreement with pabsy that we shouldn't dismiss each others methods to preserve the natural world, just that as yet I remain unconvinced that keeping a watching brief over hunts (post-ban) is not the way for an individual to have maximum impact. Give me a reason so I can understand!
