One receives so many mixed messages from religions in terms of masturbation. Where do Christians stand on this front?
I hope this is a joke. A sick, twisted joke. Remember, the only time a Christian has sex or touches himself is to pro-create. Masterbation is like being gay with yourself. You might as well do a murder-suicide while you're at it.
Christians are just as red-blooded as anyone else. When Jesus said, 'whoso looks upon a women to lust after her (or vise-versa) has committed adultery in his heart', well, its not the only form of adultery the bible talks about. I take it, that any lusting that has to do with the outside world, is a form of adultery. Masturbation draws the affections of the soul outwardly. While we are sexual beings as well as spiritual beings..to spend ones time jacking-off, is to yeild ones members to the god of this world. It actually would drain one spiritually. Thank God for grace and forgiveness, amen? I've heard it said that spirituality and sexually are like the polar energies of the same spirit-energy. One engrosses the soul to the body, while the other, inwardly into the Spirit. 'If thine eye be single, your whole body will be full of light'. Being a single man, I use to pray, 'Lord, either let me find that someone, or let me find a church where I can feel like I'm really coming to you and not just a place where certain things are done in your name'. Neither has fructified so far, heh. Inspite of all my short-comings, God is so good. and his grace is so sufficient. As wild as this may sound to other christians, we may be, as condensed forms of energy, comprised of both angelic as well as demonic energies..while the Christ within, is looking for what we can give him to work with..in converting the demonic back into the angelic. As Paul put it, 'when I would do good, evil is present with me'.
masteurbation is ok according to the bible if your mate in wedded holy matrimony assists with the goal being procreation of christian babies

are you sure sex was made for monogamy? In Exodus 21:10, a man can marry an infinite amount of women without any limits to how many he can marry. In 2 Samuel 5:13; 1 Chronicles 3:1-9, 14:3, King David had six wives and numerous concubines. In 1 Kings 11:3, King Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines. In 2 Chronicles 11:21, King Solomon's son Rehoboam had 18 wives and 60 concubines. In Deuteronomy 21:15 "If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons...."
probably less than half of those poeple who claim to be followers of Christ actually are. People check the little "christian" box for all different reasons, one being that our continent was built on Christian Morals, and they dont know what other religion they should categorize themselves under. 50 percent of all marriages end in divorce for alot of reasons, all of them rooted in one kind of selfishness or another. We're all screwups. Marriage is not easy, it takes sacrifice and patience. Christian or not, we are weak. just because marriage was designed with good intentions in mind, throw sinful people into the mix and of course not alot of us are going to get it right. you last comment suggest AGAIN that you think Christians claim to be perfect. Yah, people will justify thier actions, pick and choose, embrace, ignore, procrastinate, rush into things, be cowards and completely screw up thier lives. Becoming a Christian doesnt make anything easier and doesnt make you perfect. Actually it makes things harder because going against your selfish nature is alot harder than going with the flow. Definately the road less travelled.
When I was a child and began masterbating, I was scared to death that I was going to go to hell for it, that I was being sinful. But it felt too good to stop. I was convinced that on Judgement Day I was going to be pointed at in front of everyone, that they would all hear what I had done, and either laugh at me or look at me with disgust and I would be sent to hell. Seriously. I was terrified. I would even pray to God to forgive me afterwards. I felt like such a dirty, horrible person. Crazy, huh?
yes, CHristians do that. becasue Christians are just as human as any one else. We should put more effort into our marriages and get help if it's needed, pray more for eachother and try everything possible before divorce. Really there should be no excuse for two true Christians to divorce, you are right. If they are Christian, they are following Christ's example and things will automatically stay strong. It's when we lose sight of Jesus that things start to fall apart beneath our feet...adn the longer we wait to get help the more chances there are of falling through.
When i was 12 i felt guilty for masterbating. That didnt stop me. I flogged my bishop without mercy, not to be spiteful but because it is natural. Now i realize that making people feel guilty for masterbation is ridiculous. Mahogany.
the continent was built upon native american spirituality of which it varied widely but yes, christians had their way in very unchristian ways
its not the act itself that is a sin, its the thought of the act, the desire for the act that gets you caught.... I think thats why there are so many sex scandels in the catholic church....all these priests and monks take a vow of abstinence but they still have all the desires to have freaky sex when what god really wants is for you to rid yourself of even the desire for sex....so yes masturbation is a 'sin' in that view....if you still want sexual pleasure you have put your penis before god and therefore have broken that commandment about not having any other gods before God
