    Hello,

This is my first time growing and I would like to know if the plants are doing well so far. Because of time, I decided to start flowering only after about five weeks of growing. The pictures show four days after I started to change the light cycle to 12/12 days. My light source is a 400 watt metal halide outputting about 35,000 lumins hung two feet directly above. I sprinkle evaporated tap water on the leaves and pour alittle bit of water in the soil once a day. I also put a small candle in the grow room for about 20 minutes once a day. They seem to be healthy, but I am worried about "sagging" of the leaves. Is that normal? If possible, can anyone tell the sex of the plant by these photos? Do they look healthy? Do they look Indica? I plan to transplant them again soon.

Thank you for your help guys.

You're overwatering. Soak the pot, then let it get almost dry, then soak it again. Might be every 3 days or so, depending on a few factors. MJ does not like "wet feet", so let it dry out a little to get some oxygen into the soil. You can't tell the sex yet (at least from those pics). What surface is under the foil? If it is a white surface, ditch the foil. Is it a switchable ballast? If so, get a HPS bulb.

Thanks, for the help does it make a really big difference switching to HPS. I don't think I can change my bulb without getting a new setup. will the buds be a lot better or can I continue with what I have? Also should I be seeing flowers soon it's been like five days since I changed the light from constant to 12/12. the tops of them are starting to stink like coffee or somthing.

Thank you guys for the advice. I'll start soaking the soil every couple days. No, I would have to buy a whole new setup if I were to switch the bulb. I may consider the alternate bulb if the weed turns out much better. I will keep updating the pictures every week or so. I read that the candle trick works, but is it true?

Sorry I don't know anything about raising indoor plants(it seems like a complicated science lol). I just wanna know, what kind of camera do you have? Those pics are very clear and nice.

They have a nice color, but the leaves and whole plant in general looks very thin. I would definitely try to thicken those plants up a little more before flowering.

You should gradually lower the light. A 400 watt light should be closer than two foot away.
Shoot a 1,000 watt halide; uncooled, can be run two foot away with the proper ventillation.
Which if you dont have you might want to get before you lower that light.
They look healthy but look like they are stretching too much and not branching very well.
    Nice plants though.

yeah tie dye is right. 400w of MH can go to about 10-12 inches if you have good ventilation. hold the back of your hand over the top of the plant and adter 60 seconds it should feel nice and warm..cozy...like a warm summer day on those plants. But not hot.

-also, as previously stated you need to go easy on the watering. That is probably what is making them "droop" like you said. Id say water every 4 days in those pots. Water until drops of water come out the bottom of your pots, then stop. repeat every 4 or 5 days. 2 or 3 days is not enough, you want your soil to be dry...then you water. MJ handles dryness much better than wetness, i mean it is a weed lol. But other than that they look healthy. Good Job!

p.s. i would transplant to a bigger container asap.
