I love them as well. Wouldnt say they are one of my fav bands but sometimes I like to listen to some good ol Slipknot
i love them. im going to see them on nov. 11. the reasons i love them is because thier lyrics are so honest. thier message is that everone is just screwed up and "sic" and i love them.
I'm not too fond of them-- though I was going to see them with my dear friend Ryan out of sheer boredom, and his paying of the tickets. He's taking another girl, now, though. I don't mind . I don't really like the band anyway.
Hate, fear, agression, sadness... more like, "WOW, LOOK, WE'RE ANGRY, JUST LIKE ALL YOU OTHER THIRTEEN YEAR OLDS!" Yeah, I like slipknot. Put on a damn good show. Angsty as hell, I'm not a tortured thirteen year old hot topic faggot anymore, their lyrics are gay as aids, but it's rather nostalgic to put on some slipknizzot and laugh.
I actively despise slipknot. They don't just sound like a car that won't start (quoting my mom) but they're also sickeningly commercial. They have even started selling slipknot shoes! It's okay if you make money with playing metal, but what they do is picking an easily influenced target group (young teens) so they'll sell more merchandise (come on, nobody over fifteen can take their lyrics seriously). That's not what metal is about. Furthermore, their singer does NOT have a convincing grunt and his clear voice is neither powerful nor beautiful. I'm not sure how a turntable adds to the music, or having an okay drummer and then having two more retards pretend they know what end of the stick is the one you have to hit the drum with. It's also kind of sad that they need 9 guys to do what 3 or 4 could have done a hundred times better. And damn guys, what the fuck is that mask-and-overall thing about? Do they think it looks impressive? I know the traditional black metal regalia (corpsepaint, spikes, bullet belts and axes) can look ridiculous, but this is taking ridiculousness to a whole new level... maybe they're just ugly and have sagging moobs and want to cover it up.
Well I dont much care for them though i listend to an album by them once I belive it might have been Slipknot vol. 3 and I will agree that there lyrics are kind of stupid the whole im angry at life thing has been way to over done by modren bands.
i can respect your guys opions.. i really can... the reason i like the are that they are honest with their lyrics.. there are people out there that have had a fucked up life (im one of them).. dealing with an emotionally abusive mother and step father.. not to mention a child molester for a father who trys to play mind games every second of his pathetic life.. this music makes me feel better.. lets me get all that anger and hate that i have in my life
I love em. My favorite band. Saw em in april, damn good show they put on. Joey Jordison is a damn good drummer. Corey Taylor's vocals are amazing. I love People=Shit.
Nah, I’m sorry, I CANNOT respect that. Its fine if you hate them, I’m not trying to argue, I just think your wrong about a couple of things. 1stly Parents say any modern music sounds like a dysfunctional car, its a taboo to EVER quote from your mum when on the topic of music. 2ndly Joey Jordinson is the best drummer in the world, I would have a fair idea, seeing as I’m a drummer myself. He was recorded as 2nd best, tailing after Blink 182s drummer, but they broke up. 3. I’m going to say that Slipknot have never been about the money, of course, you wouldn’t know this, not being a Slipknot fan and all, Just an ignorant bystander uneducated about a particular topic, but feeling free to talk shit about it. It has and always will be about the Music and the kids for slipknot. Not the money. They have actually done free shows when there tickets have over-sold. Their lyrics are deep, and meaningful. Most adults wouldn’t understand them; they use many techniques, Metaphors etc. They are 9 very talented members, and Shawn and Chris (co-drummers) may not have much of a role preforming these days, but are so energetic they put on a fucking good show. And on a final note, the masks are NOT a gimmick, They reveal more about Slipknot then their faces ever could. Any they are certainly not an ugly band, as seen in 'Stone Sour' and The 'Murderdolls'
I liked their first album... iowa was pretty weak and so was their other album... saw them in concert and it was fuckin insane... but after all that burger king shit... i lost all respect for slipknot
They've grown on me slightly. When they I first heard them, whenever Wait And Bleed was released, I really didn't like them. But they've grown on me enough for me to get through a few songs without getting bored. Don't think I could put myself through listening to an entire album, however.
I think any of us, regardless of musical talent, could put on a mask and overall, perform with the band and get away with it... you've got 7 other people to cover you up with their noise.
Gee, you did your research. THERE ARE 9 MEMBERS OF SLIPKNOT! All contributing. Corey has a range of vocals, as you would know if you heard Slipknots latest album + the melodic-rock band Stone Sour. All 9 members play a big part in creating Slipknots musical layers. I don’t give a FUCK if you like slipknot or not. But i would prefer it if you didn’t just come on here with your stupid-non-sense lies that are based on false information because it makes me angry. SO EAT SHIT GAY FACE!
