hello everyone... I haven't had a chance to drop by here in forever because I am working towards turning my digital arts passion into some kind of sustaining income. As a result, I find myself buried in tons of work, hoping something pays sooner or later. Meanwhile, I've gotten quite a collection of photos lately, I just posted a bunch in my member gallery, plus there's at least 80 new images on my personal site. I couldn't resist sharing some of these shots with everyone. I wanted to post seven images but it's making me split it into two posts. inside a dandelion wintertime woodpecker inside a virginia bluebell great yosemite falls and valley
You are so talented, all of them are just amazing! The one of Yosemite falls and valley takes my breath away.
well since some of you have voiced your favorites, i'll elaborate... the inside a dandelion came while i was on my way to take pictures of the bluebells that day. once i saw the dandelion, i was taken back to childhood and making wishes on those things. i couldn't resist getting a close up, almost as if i were positioning it in front of myself cast it into the wind upon a wish with the whisk of a breath. great yosemite falls, that awesome shot in yosemite park came from an elevation of 10,000 feet or so. looking down into the valley way down below all of those trees you see, and all of the other trees in the picture are all 300 foot tall redwoods... gives you an idea of the size of that place. i was unprepared for just how amazing the scenery would be when i got there. speaking of getting there, back to the dandelion shot and making a wish... well, earlier this year i wished i'd made it to california and it wasn't a week later i got the phone call from one of my friends inviting me on a trip she was planning. i figured i'd better recognize this as the opportunity i had wished for and took her up on the idea right then on the phone the day she called. the result was a collection of over 400 photos from an extensive two week journey from reno to the sierra nevadas, to humboldt county, eureeka, arcadia, down the pacific coast, into the redwoods, san francisco, yosemite park, and finally, lake tahoe. the virginia bluebells, well they only happen once a year, and for only about 3-4 weeks or so they seem to be in bloom, peak bloom is about 2 weeks or less... so getting the right lighting, weather and everything else to get a good shot is tricky when you work 40 hours and are also self employed with a 2 week timeframe to choose from. fortunately, each year i seem to end up with a better collection than the previous year, always trying to outdo my earlier efforts. anyway, this is the first time i decided to get up close inside of one, and it was a direct result of the dandelion picture. thanks again for sharing, another collection of seven is in the works!
