What grade are you in?

 

Well, you're 30 now, back in the 70's and 80's ( hippy years!!!! )
I guess society was a little bit different back then.

Most schools I've gone to ( And I was in 11 ), start gossiping and making fun of you when you're christian...

 

You're lucky....back in the 70's and 80's here, schools used to teach christianity as the primary religion.....luckily, those days are pretty much gone and christianity now only get's taught alongside other religions

 

They still do that, in Europe we've got the so-called 'religion' class. They don't have that in america...

 

Man, I work in a donut shop right. My employer(boss, puh!) is jewish and pretty much only hires christians, I think because they tend to do what they are told and don't think for themselves. I tend to tell him to get fucked when I dissagree.

So I'm the only non christian there(along with the jew).

Anyway, we got some new staff and they ask "hey cerberus(yeah), which church do you go to?"
This nerd guy goes, before I can answer, "he's an atheist" with a negative tone, and they are all sort of shocked.

I love it.

I always bring up topics like evolution(which they are all against despire not knowing what natural, sexual and artificial selection are, not any genetics), aswell as alot of arguments and quotes from the bible posted by libertine and fuzzynuts whom I thank for doing the work for me.

They never have a counter argument.

It's the best thing ever.

You obviously know little about American schools. Now tell someone in school here you are Muslim - THEN you'll see the rumors fly!

The Muslims have had it very hard in the States... Even back when I was in school. I had two girl friends named Nesrin and Sherin who were Muslim, and they were constantly in tears because of the things that people used to day to them... That they were terrorists or camel-jockeys or weak-willed simpletons for adhering to their custom of wearing the Burkha (sp?).

Other faiths have troubles as well...

My friend Milli, a beautiful Hindu girl who went on to be a doctor, was mocked for her cute little accent, had cow noises made at her every time she passed down the hall, and there was no end to people running up with their hamburgers or other beef foods and taking big old bites of it in front of her, saying dumb things like, "Mmmmm! Your god is delicious!"

Me, I was a Wiccan, and there were constantly rumors about me having orgies with all of these guys while burning animal sacrifices... And that wasn't true. My personal favorite was some preppie Christian goody-two-shoes who started some rumor that she had found me dancing naked in a field drinking her neighbor's cat's blood. I *LOVE* cats, I would *NEVER* have done something of this sort.

Ryu darlin', I hate to say this, but kids can be cruel, and Christian kids can be even crueler. They've been taught that they're "right," and in that, they think they're "better" than others. It's not their fault tho, because a lot of their Christian parents function in the same fashion. How can they know better if they've never been taught?

In short, the Christians bad rep over here in the States is pretty well deserved. Americans can be arrogant and ignorant, anyways... but Christian Americans can be arrogant, ignorant and plagued by delusions of grandeur. It's gonna take a lot of hard work to win the hearts of those who have been hurt by people like that.

The thing with the Hindus is horrible-
I'm a vegetarian and I like cows. They're awesome. And it annoys me when people make fun of my eating habits. Now, if you were a hindu too. OUCH. >.<
That's disgusting. Whoever does that...needs to get saved.

And about the 'Christian' kids, are they really Christian?
Many people say they are, but they just _AIN'T_.

Most 'Christians' I know are fornicators...

You actually think my comment about muslims in public school is funny when you are the one claiming how hard it is to be a christian in public school?

It isn't just muslims, it is anyone that participates in any religion besides christianity.

I can't stand how christians think they have it so hard, but don't seem to realize how hard they make it for people who don't happen to be in the majority, for people who are different then them. Add teenage stupidity to the mix and that makes public school torture for anyone who openly believes in gods other than the one everyone here in the U.S. is used to.

And we've all went to school, you have no more experience in school (in fact, at your age you have less) then the rest of us.
