Few questions... I plan to try opium soon. 1. How long would it take to grow before the first decent bulb appears? This would be with an old weed grow chamber. 2. Is smoking the stems and/or sap worth it? 3. Is it easy to find in Columbus (I haven't asked many people)?
Little known fact: You can buy all the opium you want on Ebay: You'd need this: http://tinyurl.com/bojua And this: http://tinyurl.com/7svaz ...and if regular opium was so great, Big Brother would have closed this little loophole a long time ago. EDIT: Sharing this info with a 15 year old didn't feel right. I suppose the knowledge would have found you eventually without my interference, but you need to know that at your age, you might not be ready for experimentation with opium. You can OD and get very sick (ask nesta). People have died: http://www.dallasobserver.com/issues/2005-05-19/news/feature.html Even if the drug (medicine, really) does you no harm, remember that you don't live in a free country. The U.S. government now holds 400,000 'drug criminal' political prisoners. A drug conviction can also ruin your chances of getting financial aid for college.
I don't really do the same drug too often... besides weed. I'm more interested in finding a more natural relaxant (i.e. opium versus vallies/hydro's, shrooms versus acid, etc.). There's something special about the organic.
Just my personal opinion, but opium is a dirty, nauseating high. Oxy is a pure crisp high, and hydrocodone is in the middle.
Also... I assume coffee-grinding the dried pods, and running a methanol/ethanol extraction would collect a good portion of the alkaloids? I.e. 1. Slowly add the ground poppy pods to a ethanol solution, while stirring gently. 2. After 10 minutes, Pour through a fine strainer. Pour new product through cloth/coffee filter. 3. Heat solution slightly, with good ventilation. Scrape off sludge. Would the result be smokable (all the ethanol would be gone)? If not, would mixing it with marijuana guarentee its smokability?
The method in the above mentioned book requires no ethanol. One would (theoretically, of course) remove stems and seeds (waste product...but the seeds can be planted), put the emptied pods into a blender with boiling water, grind it into a hot mush, let sit ten minutes, filter the mush through silk cloth into a baking pan ( silk cloth is a very good filter, allowing only liquids to pass through), either drink the filtered liquid (which is opium tea), or put a fan to blow on the liquid for a day or two until all water evaporates and only opium is left. Opium can't exactly be 'smoked' like tobacco or MJ, but is used by putting it on a very hot fire to produce opium smoke.
The above works, but a blender doesnt work well to turn the pods into powder which is needed, Swim has tried it. What Swim does is get a coffee grinder and grind the pods into a very fine powder, boil water and take it off the burner and then stir the pod powder for about 5-10min. and then strain with a cloth or coffee filter, sometimes twice to get all the access pods out of it. Then driiink up and have a blast . Swim is going to make a big glass of tea tommorow morning and have a great day.
no, a coffee grinder (or in a pinch a blender or food processor) works alright. a mortar and pestle would be far too tedious, and wouldnt get it into a powder unless you work at it for a really really long time. opium in columbus is hard to find. i mean, it's everywhere, but it's almost all 100% fake. fwiw, all opiates and opioids are converted into morphine in the body anyway, and all have their origins from a natural source. its a matter of how efficiently it's used in the body, thats all. opium still contains morphine and codeine, so you're no better off really than you are will taking pills. the only difference is it's easier and more pleasant to smoke opium than to smoke pills, if you harvest the opium properly. oh, and btw, "organic" means it contains carbon atoms....
After a bad experience with syrian rue, most plant matter teas (i.e. not twinnings/coffee) makes me gag. Smoking is def my preferred method of ingestion.
