I got inspired to begin writing when I was in the 8th grade-I had a teacher so free of spirit, who told us we could write about absolutly anything we wanted to, and he always positivly responded to it, wrote little helpful comments in the margins...he retired early when I started highschool, and wrote a nice little childrens book. The strange part was, 1 of my earliest memories of enjoying writeing was when I had a subsitute teacher, for 1 day of the entire school year. She let us be free for one entire day(lol, to my 5th grade mind it was total heaven), and she sat and wrote poems, while the rest of the class decided to fool around. So my friends and I joined her in writing. When she was gone the next day, i never heard from her again(i even checked the school absent list, it says we never had a subsitute that day...wierd) It turns out she was married to that 8th grade teacher...it really showed me the path to writing. How were you inspired to write?
when i was in fourth grade, my teacher got us a poetry teacher that would come in on fridays and teach us all the basics, and luckily he convinced my fifth grade teacher to use her again. she was really great, i remember i wrote one poem about being outside during the summer one day and she asked if she could keep it for her personal collection because she was so impressed. pretty much since then ive really liked poetry. in 8th grade my interest sparked into writing again when my teacher was big on having us write almost everyday, so i got into just keeping an every-once-in-a-while log and just writing down anything that interested me in notebooks. i still do that now, and i just recently started writing actual short stories and gotten back into some poetry writing.
