haha. im not a fan of them at all. cant stand their music really. sorry i repied to the post , i guess there was no reason for me to really.
Matts trying to break my reputation because i listen to music thats just as good as what he listens to. ...like counting crows and dave mathews band. actually i listen to experimental, electronica, jazz, and progressive music mostly.
Hahah.... I was just busting your chops, man. I thought you'd get a chuckle out of it at least. But hey, apparantly Fripp liked them enough to work with them.
Of course i knew you were playing around Matt. If i didnt know I wouldnt have done the same. and yes, i did find it funny. what did Fripp do with the Eagles? I didnt know about that actually...weird...
Not the Eagles.... Hall & Oates. Fripp plays on like two of their albums, and Daryl Hall also appears on Fripp's Exposure album. Don't ask why.
oh my mistake. cool! well, if Fripp likes them then i guess that means i do. Fripp is the man!:sunglasse
No matter what you say about the Eagles and their Love Me F--K me music you have to say that they are a great band. They have proved it time and time again, all seasoned players and the live show proves that. Hey Loveflower, if you like their music then you do just that and to hell with what anybody says and thinks. :sunglasse
I frankly got interested in the Eagles only after crazy-man Joe Walsh joined them. Walsh used to carry a chainsaw with him on the road so he could saw holes in the walls of hotel rooms to see what was behind them......Henley never liked Walsh much, and when Walsh turned out to be the only swinging single in the band, even less.... I followed Walsh when he fronted the James Gang...as a soloist he was still odd enough to generate some interest. But how Azoff got him into the Eagles is a long story...recounted at length in the Eagles bio TAKE IT TO THE LIMIT. When the Eagles did the slow stuff like "Desperado", they sounded pretty unique. But when they did the loud stuff or the rockabilly stuff, they didn't quite cut it. "Best Of My Love" is a well-made hit, but I never could stand Jackson Browne's "Take It Easy".
didnt walsh take bernie leadons place?? Eagles stuff isnt that bad, if you just want some laid back music once in awhile. hell, even dave gilmour liked them.
Yes, Walsh took Leadon's place. The only reason Walsh was allowed into the Eagles is because Frey was at the time trying to steer the band more into rock and away from country, Leadon's thing. In fact, Frey's support of Walsh has been the main factor in Walsh's remaining with the band for so long. And their music may have been laid-back, but on the road these guys were holy terrors. They nailed furniture to the ceiling in their hotel room as a prank; they routinely destroyed furniture in their rooms; and Henley even had a camcorder to film his sexual escapades with groupies. Henley, Frey, and Walsh also believed that Things Go Better With Coke.....bags and bags of the stuff. Wow....
