JUST WONDERING IF SOME FOLKS FROM THE EUREKA AREA COULD GIVE ME SOME MUCH NEEDED WORDS OF WISDOM IN REGARD TO THE PEOPLE IN THE AREA. I AM REALLY CONSIDERING MOVING TO NORTHERN CA. IN THE SUMMER OF '06 AND HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING AREAS AND EUREKA AND SOME SURROUNDING AREAS HAVE REALLY DRAWN MY INTEREST. I CURRENTLY LIVE IN A TOWN OF ABOUT 28K, ON THE WATER, LOTS OF ART AND MUSIC ON THE COAST IN ALABAMA. LOVELY PLACE. I AM WHITE AND MY BOYFRIEND IS BLACK. I FEEL THIS IS TOUGH ON US HERE. ALABAMA IS NOT AS BACKWARDS AS PEOPLE THINK BUT, WE STILL HAVE A LONG.......WAY TO GO!!! MY BOYFRIEND AND I ARE BOTH VERY LAID BACK AND DOWN TO EARTH AND ENJOY LIFE. WE LOVE ONE ANOTHER VERY MUCH! racism is everywhere but california is pretty laid back by comparison after all, the first hippies were in fact people in america who accepted blacks as cool, and equal- mostly spawned round california area
eireka is a cool little town, its actualy very cool concifdering how it was founded it wa a very very large plantation with thousands of black & indian slaves, & the owner of the plantation was very cruel, however in his will he freed the slaves & basicaly turned over his land to them, & they founded the town (or at least thats how it was told to me) oregon in generalis very confy place to live & is really open minded hope that helps
Hey APS, I'm assuming you’re referring to Eureka, Calf. If not, oh well. If so, northern Calif. is awesome, lots of KICK ASS SENSI KB. As far as black and white, Calif. is quite open minded and more accepting than ALABAMA or any of the other southern states. Let me extend the welcome mat. I recently found “The Hip Forums” myself and I know what it’s like to be a newcomer. You don’t really know what to say or how to act. Read some of the threads so you can get the gist of what topics are being discussed. When you feel comfortable jump right in and get your feet wet. Nobody here is going to “Flame” you, that just isn’t tolerated here (unless it’s necessary) lol. We get some assholes here who just want to stir up bad vibes... From what I’ve found so far is that we are one big family with many brothers and sisters. Once again the doors open come on in, open up your heart and mind, put on some groovy tunes, kick back and stay awhile.
when i think eureka i think gangs, it is a city no doubt, i guess at one time it was cool hombolt and all, and some of the old vibe still remains, but overall i wouldnt rcomend it
