What does everyone think of that movie? I personally love it! But not just the movie, also the wonderful soundtrack, and the colors they used! I don't knowi f everyone noticed, but the colors in that movie are really special, they look unreal (at least to me and to Nick!).
I Love that movie, it has kind of a fairy tale production, but in a unique urban way. Great cast. How about the foreshadowing when the used Elliott Smith's song with the guy slitting his wrist
This is a great film, though I perfer Rushmore to a degree. It is indeed fairy-tailish in an urban way, as Seamonster said. I think it's pretty funny too. Royal: I thought I'd start by taking you out to visit your grandmother. Richie: God, I haven't been out there in years. Margot: I've never been at all. I was never invited. Royal: Well she wasn't your real grandmother, and I didn't know how much interest you had. But you're invited now! Royal: Are you trying to steal my woman? Henry Sherman: I beg your pardon. Royal: You heard me, Coltrane. Henry Sherman: "Coltrane"? Royal: What? Henry Sherman: Did you just call me Coltrane? Royal: No. Henry Sherman: You didn't? Royal: No. Henry Sherman: Okay...
Yeah, I liked this movie. It was different, yet accessible. And yes, the cinematography was very nicely done. I too like the colors, which give the movie a sort of vintage, almost surreal effect.
i really like owen wilson as a screenwriter. he has written some of my favorite comedies including bottle rocket, rushmore, and the royal tenenbaums.
ahh, I still have to see Rushmore (yeah Nick keeps talking about it, it makes me wanna see it! ) I love that scene!!
i saw this movie, with a bunch of my friends and i was the only one who liked it. actually i loved it ! i thought it was so funny. every one is that movie was sooooo great ! i loved Anjelica Huston in this movie and Gwyneth Paltrow was amazing also !
Ummmm Worst movie ever... I needed illegal substances to stay awake during it.... O man ill never get those 2 hrs back :'(
yeah its definatly a love or hate film. i know some peopel i know didnt like it. one of my friends didnt even finish it. he thought the whole film was going to be like the introduction narration sequence.i can understand a younger audiance disliking it though. and that type of humor is not for everyone.
i really loved Gweneth Paltrow's character, it really captured her sadness in such a beautifully ecstatic way.
I havent seen this movie, but I have seen Rushmore (and liked it), so I should check this movie out sometime. I think part of the appeal to those movies are the soundtracks. Its not your typical soundtracks, has more obscure 60s jems, and a unique score by mark mothersbaugh.
I love The Royal Tenenbaums. It gets better and funnier every time I see it. I love all of Wes Anderson's movies. He has a unique gift for interesting, quirky characters and writes great dialog. Not to mention his great visual style and use of widescreen photography. I can't wait for his new movie which comes out this fall, I think.
I absolutely love this movie. Which is strange for me, because I hate alot of other movies. Rushmore is also a very good movie worth watching if you liked The Royal Ts.
Quite possibly the worst movie ever in existence. I don't even recommend renting it. My reasons? How about falling asleep within the first 10 minutes of the movie all 5 times I tried watching it?
I really like this movie. I think one has to have a mature, developed sense of humor to like this (clue: if you thought Dumb and Dumber, White Chicks or anything with Paulie Shore in it was "really funny" you probably wouldn't get the humor in the Tenenbaums.) I have been looking for the sound track, which I want so badly, but I haven't been able to find it. I like the fact that you really didn't know what time frame it was set it. Was it the 70s, the present, some other dimension? You didn't know. Great movie.
I thought it was wonderful I really like most of Wes Anderson's films. Bottlerocket wasn't too good, but I enjoyed Rushmore.
i've only seen it once. i really liked it! especially margot, of course. she was hilarious. the name of this movie did not make me want to see it. i didnt for the longest time...
