    Hey!
This is probably the worst place and forum to ask the question, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a decent and affordable health insurance program. They go up every year and I can't afford the premiums :(

I sure don't know of any good deals. Some hospitals offer very competitive benefits to attract and keep nurses.

there is a definite dearth of good affordable healthcare these days, I have no advice. It just gets worse every year in this country, even for those of us that have so called good benefits. Hilary Clinton '08 is all I can offer and I am going out on a limb to even say that.

I didn't want to discourage duncan, but mimosa is right. Even if you have good health insurance, paid for by the employer, getting health care is the pits. With co-pays and deductibles, then the clinics/hospitals rip people off, collude with the insurance companies, you name it. In way too many cases, the consumer is the loser in health care. Like cattle, we're hearded into one of the many cubicles in the clinic's maze, left to freeze in a paper gown. Our time is worth nothing, waiting on the almighty doctor.

I thank you for your honesty. I work in a hospital and until I go from per-diem to either full-time or part-time I'm not eligible for anything that they offer. Right now (I am FORCED to show that I have somthing) I am paying for a cataclismic policy. For the unbelievable price of $35/month I get coverage that us useless ... something like a $6000 deductible.
If I find something I'll let you know.
