My favorite performer is Tori Amos. She's the epitome of an alternative/folk-rock goddess. An incredible poet and music arranger. She consistantly breaks down the barriers of popular music with her lilting voice, personal lyrics, and incredible musical arrangments. I've seen her in concert 5 times and will always come back for more. Any-one else who also loves this red headed pixie woman, lets hear from you. Peace and love, Scarlett
I love katie too...But what has she done lately? Haven't been that captivated since " the sensual world " .."Boys for Pele" kicks her ass.
I prefer Scarlet's walk, From the choirgirl hotel and Little earthquakes over Boys for Pele, which somehow failed to reach the spot for me, I guess... Bells for her makes me cry every time I listen to it and is my new official 'bawling my eyes out would make me feel a lot better'-song.. From Kate Bush I only know the song with 'Babushka, babushka...' in it (might be called Babushka which seems logical but I don't know) so I'll not judge who's better (but I don't think she'll be better than Tori).
Yes those are all awesome. ..and yes I take a personal pleasure in "Scarlet's Walk" {she spells hers with only 1- T} Im a big fan of what I lovingly call " Fairie Rock " ie..Tori, Kate, The Sundays, Mazzy star, and The Innocence Mission. Check out Kate's " Runnin up that hill" Babushka is good...But Tallula is better. !! Peace and love to all...Scarlett
I only know Running up that hill from the bombastic gothic rock band Within Temptation. I'll try the original version as well.
I love Tori's music. Have only heard all of Little Earthquakes, and various tv performances durring the years... but she's an awesome chick. I need to get more of her music.
Jammed "Sugar" once without ever hearing the song...... turned out really well. When I heard the track, couldn't believe it - like a different composition entirely.
Cool, She is such a versitile artist...Did anyone see her in that movie recently? { I Forget the title} She was awesome as a 40's torch singer-type.
I bloody LOVE Tori Amos! She must be my favourite artist. I've seen her live twice, and both times she did a wonderful performance. I liked the second show (two months ago) most, because it was only her and her piano + organ (no band). It was so beautiful, her voice and the piano...magical. My favourite Tori albums are Little Earthquakes and Boys for Pele. Silent all these years is maybe my favourite song ever.
i'm listening to tori's version of thank you right now. tori amos pretty much kicks ass, even if she hasn't done too much to impress me lately.
